I can't see Ayu as having much sex appeal. Hardly anything she does is considered sexy, its more fashionable, fun and trendy. Its basically just Ayu! She didn't build a career off being sexy, that was never the point so the fact she is number one says that. Though I'd say the wacoal advertisements (was more classy, sophisticated than plan sexy) and Sparkle video (those tight latex/plastic body suits) kind of upped her in sex appeal, its still not the point. In a way I think this is kind of a compliment, she's an icon anyway, she's an artist, she doesn't need to be sexy for her fans to think she's beautiful, she just already is.
