A thought about THE introduction and its placement on the album

A friend brought up how THE introduction sounds like it came from a vertical shooter... and I wondered, "Wait a minute. Wasn't NEXT LEVEL video game themed?" So it seems to me almost like THE introduction is kinda meant to serve as a bit of a segue into Rock'n'Roll Circus from NEXT LEVEL?

It's just a thought, but it makes sense to me, haha. Anyone else sort of see where I'm coming from on this?

Dang you interludes!

I hope she does a track by track interview for this album soon.

THE introduction sounds like it goes before Dlb tbh, that's where I put it on my album playlist

I still think that THE Introduction is somewhat of an homage to Clockwork Orange. Even at the tour, it plays as the curtain slowly raises, and behind it are the dancers in like these robot mannequin like poses and that brought back some clockwork orange imagery for me too.

^how interesting!

considering the way Microphone is, I don't doubt it at all...personally, I really liked the whole dark, menacing feel of the track (up until the end anyway)...

I guess it could seem as a bridge between the two albums...but it just seemed like an electronic track that really went with the album.

I didn't really think of video games when I heard it...but I know the type of synth she used is common in the old school games...I think it was more that it was just perfect with that really low bass synth that she had going on in it...

I don't know, I'm just rambling now lol

I didn't either, but I realized that it did sound exactly like how vertical shoot-em-ups sound, haha.

THE introduction is sounds like a battle tune in medieval era, I think..
It flows smoothly after Curtain call from NEXT LEVEL, since the song is very silent..

RnRC album is full of dark tone, like montage, the sounds of violin is remind me to Dracula theme movies
And the opening is somewhat connected to that theme...

THE introduction sounds like a crappy introduction to introduce an average album. I see no special point in the intro other than being an intro. If it sounded like the end of Curtain call and then started going crazy THEN I would have thought "Oh hey, a bridge of NEXT LEVEL to Rock'n'Roll Circus, not bad!"

I think "THE introduction" is better than half the music on the album. Lol.
Sure, the synth-work they chose to portray the melody isn't the best - kinda sounds like weird horns blaring. But I really love how dramatic the melody is in itself.

Dude, you are soooooooo bitter, haha.

Now that I've heard the observation, I can't help but think of vertical shooters whenever I listen to THE introduction... nooooo~

Of course, THE introduction is more epic, but it's still thereeee~

Not necessarily. I mean I know he doesn't like the album that much. But it's not impossible to think the intro is better than half the album. MY STORY is my favorite album and I still love Catcher In The Light more than most of the other songs.

Oh, I know. It's just that he seems like he's really disappointed with what happened when it came to liking (or in this case, disliking) the album.

^ I've been seeing those sorts of exaggerated disappointed comments everywhere.

I totally see what you're talking about with THE introduction! I always thought it sounded like something out of a game, I thought it was a grand introduction or something and that thing with the vertical shooters kinda fits.

I certainly see the connection between one album to another, and she's been known to connect things. This album is full of little connections it seems.

Yeah I will admit I'm quite dissapointed, but not really angry? Lol. I'm just really sad that this album doesn't have much longevity for me, and I/we waited SO LONG! It's like when listening on my iPod, I'll listen to Microphone, then maybe Last Links, and then perhaps Don't look back and then I just scroll up and down the songs and don't really have the urge to listen to any of the other tracks (well maybe BALLAD while I'm in the R'n'R Circus album). Come Summer I'll be listening to Sunrise though!
