but though basically a lot looks copied, i wouldn't say she copied ayu's nails~ it's not like she went to get her nails done every time she sees ayu with a new style...now if she did that, i would say copying

reading the first page or so of this thread really makes me sad that i'm grouped with some of these other ayu fans in this fandom.

i don't see the big deal other than jolin's arrogant (maybe unintentional) words in the interview. ayu is just a fashion influence.

Personally, I like Jolin's style and fashion. It's cute and she wears some of the prettiest stuff. Her borrowing an Ayu style or two isn't wrong at all. She liked it and felt that she can pull it off which I think she did well.

I always knew, or at least I had this hunch, that Jolin was copycat-ting Ayu, but that was one of the reason why I like Jolin. I see so much similarity in her previous stuffs. But I don't see it as a reason why u should dislike or even hate Jolin. On the contrary, at least for me, I see it as her plus side.

And for last note, I always think that her best album was See my 72 changes. The best album ever, from her. Her latest work were all just well, so-so

like everyone's said, what she said was flat out arrogant. ugh. there has always been something i did not like about her character. she tries too very dayum hard. there's nothing inspirational and distinct about her. i've never really liked the taiwanese entertainment industry anyways. their was always something cheesy and unoriginal about them.

I think fans got irritated by her "I'm the one and only, original Jolin," or something like that. I find it amusing that she's considered a style icon if she borrows/is inspired by Ayumi's fashions. Seeing as how Ayumi is still alive, shouldn't she get credit?

i did read that article back then. but the translation in english made her look bad. her actual words are, '我是独一无二的蔡依林'.

i do not see anything wrong with THAT line, and it should does not sound arrogant.
the actual english translation should be, 'i'm the one and only jolin tsai'

please stop bashing about her image. She is a good dresser and it is not sl *ty looking! Her style back then was like a gyaru, which is NOTHING WRONG!!!!! it's fashion!
