Yeah this is true. I thought Koda Kumi's Sukide Sukide Sukide should have been the weekly #1 also. Japanese people do indeed make poor choices sometimes. I wouldn't blame them if Hymme does badly though....its not that much of a hit song. At least its doing okay atm.

Most music these days might not "deserve" to hit no. 1, but I don't mind if it does, as long as there's also good music to listen to.

I really can't be bothered to get that upset because other people like a song. If it's good to them, doing fantastic on the charts, then why should I feel how I perceive a song to be the only way that it should be received by others when it's all subjective and doesn't really matter?

Guys, i love Utada´s recent stUFF(ULTRA BLUE and Heart Station) but i hardly listen to her older songs (appart from First Love song, Distance, Final Distance, Sakura Drops and Letters). What do you recommend for a "Stay Gold"-type songs fan??

^there isn't much to recommend. She only has 5 albums, and you said you already listen to/like her latest 2 albums. That only leaves 3 albums worth of songs to pick. I'm not even sure. Especially since you mentioned you already like sakura drops, letters, final distance, and first love.

Deep River is the closest in terms of sound... Final Distance, Sakura Drops and Letters are all from that era...

and personally im very happy that hikki has covered this song. cuz it fits the jazzy style ive been really into lately. thank god im in this mood or i probably wouldve had negative views of this song

I hope it's a really dark ballad. That would certainly reflect my feelings of the winter and Christmas, I really don't want another All I Want For Christmas type of song. Way too cheerful for such a depressing time.
