Yep, that's true, FedEx is expensive and i had to pay the extra fees, i only use fedex for first presses for albums.
The air mail and SAL are slower but is really cheaper and good (20 days for delivery, isn't bad at all)

^ dunno if it applies for my country only but I received the FedeX invoice of taxes about a month after the delivery.. hope it won't happen for you :/
