It's a fact you know :-)) But when you attend concerts the sound is too loud to hear all the flaws. And of course there's a show which may distract from vocals quality :-)

Even so, it's obvious when she doesn't hit a note during live. For example, when she did momentum last CDL, she couldn't manage the last chorus very well. The high notes were mostly out of tune. I loved that song, and I remember being slightly disappointed at how she handled that.

I am... was wonderful though, so I'm not sure why the TV version sounds so butchered.

So its not true that concert-goers think vocals are good because we are too distracted by the show. Yes, the show is great, but what we're ultimately there for is to hear her live. So no matter how excited and hyper you are, it is natural to listen out for the vocals.

You missed my point. I repeat, good show distracts you from SOME flaws. I didn't even start this conversation, it was just my opinion...
Of course in general most people will hear if the vocals are bad or not.
I remeber going to Mylene Farmer show in Saint-Petersburg. The sound was REALLY lound so even her pitch seemed to sound higher that it really was. And of course I missed several off-key notes. But when I listened very clean fan recording of that show every single flaw was much more obvious even though that this show was very good vocal-wise.
That's my point!

If I missed your point, I'm sorry.

But I still disagree. I've been trained half my life as a musician to listen out for these things, so no matter how distracting the show is/how loud the speakers get, I normally recognize it when ayu goes off-pitch.

With that, I still stick with my point that ayu's live vocals were definitely not that atrocity that was the TV version.
