Akanishi Jin’s American debut album tops Oricon chart

Akanishi Jin’s American debut mini album “TEST DRIVE featuring JASON DERULO” has sold 109,000 copies, taking the number one spot on Oricon’s 12/19 Weekly Album Ranking.

This album is Akanishi’s second work in a row to top the Oricon chart, following by his solo debut single “Eternal”. The last Japanese artist to place number one on Oricon with their foreign debut was Utada Hikaru’s “EXODUS” which was released in September 2004. It has been seven years and three months since someone has achieved this feat.

The US version of “TEST DRIVE featuring JASON DERULO” was released last month under “JIN AKANISHI” in the United States and placed number one on the USA iTunes dance chart and was in the TOP 10 for all singles.

On December 28th Akanishi will be releasing his second Japanese solo single “Seasons” under “Akanishi Jin”.

Andalucia made a comeback this Countdown. I just love it when the Johnnys all perform this. I like this Countdown. They are getting back on track, but my favourite part (when they sing songs of other Johnnys) was too short. KAT-TUN did Musekin Hero by Kanjani 8.

^You can open a Jin thread if you want. I already suggested that several times to other members here since I'm not really a big fan of his and so I'd rather not be the person to do it. I would actually be happy if you did it because for me Jin and KAT-TUN are seperate and don't belong in the same category anymore.

Jin Akanishi announces second US single "Sun Burns Down"

"JIN AKANISHI is soon going to release his second American Single! We’re all looking forward to listen to it!

Following his Number 1 iTunes Dance Chart Album (EP) "Test Drive featuring Jason Derulo", "Sun Burns Down" has been produced by Grammy Award nominated Stereotypes, who have also produced award-winning music for artist such as Far East Movement, Ne-Yo and Justin Bieber!

"Jin is killing it with the vocals", said members of the Stereotypes, "point blank, he's a star and it's going to be a great collaboration".

i finally managed to watch all of JE CDL yesterday. i really liked it. but i miss the days where everyone was in Tokyo Dome (K8's in Kyocera, Tackey/Tsubasa were in the Imperial Theater, Arashi doing Kouhaku duty, etc). i LOOOOOOVED "Musekinin Hero" lol.

@karen Jin did get a haircut. it's shorter than before, but still a bit long...

i'm rather neutral with Jin stuff here. there hasn't been much activity in the JE threads in general (this isn't AHS in 2008 anymore, lol) or massive fan wars/drama that calls for immediate creation of separate threads. i mean, as long as we're mature about it, then i'm fine with Jin stuff here. i'm all up for free/open discussion. the NEWS thread still has YamaPi news & all that...

i like the Stereotypes better than Jason Derulo, so i hope "Sun Burns Down" is a much better effort. i really think Jin should consider letting others write for him, lmao, or get someone in the industry to help him. i actually like "The Fifth Season" on his Japanese single, but i don't like the way he sings it...if that makes sense. he's stresses the notes too much.

also itching for the CHAIN tracklist...very excited to see con goods & concert details too! i can't believe it's been a year & a half-ish since NMP tour.
