[Aoyama Thelma] The 4th thread ~ digital single My Only Lover (08.2)

[KarenPang]

Surprisingly , those rock song covers she does them pretty well , such as Bon Jovi's You Give Love A Bad Name & also Maroon 5's This Love o_o

who knew she sound quite good doing rock :O since Aoyama's main music genre that she does is R&B

[Pieces_of_SEVEN]

Her cover of IDWMAT is cute...not sure if I like hers or Yuna Ito's better.

[setsuka]

I like this cover album, but her cover of Tokyo Lullaby >>>> most of these tracks

she should have gone safer and done Japanese classic maybe a little older than Che'Nelle or Ms.Ooja's recent cover albums kinda like Kuu's cover album (Matsuda Seiko, Yamaguchi Momoe, etc etc)

her voice fits those tracks really well imo

[setsuka]

welp

78. 781 ＭＹ　ＣＯＶＥＲＳ / 青山テルマ

weekly numbers and position

wish it did better, was a really good album and I guess this cover trend didn't help her

[NintendoHTF1242]

lol ouch

[Utena]

that sucks but I understand why it didn't do well.. zero promo, covering English songs, nothing original here lol At least Che'Nelle & BENI make English versions of Japanese songs, it might be dumb but I guess it's more appealing to a Japanese audience that just covering existing English songs..

:x but unlike BENI , the covers that Aoyama covered in MY COVERS are all prominent English songs so I guess if you don't know them , then it's quite pointless in buying it

Sad cos I do enjoy the songs that Aoyama covered :3

[Pieces_of_SEVEN]

781?! OMG that's embarrassing...

[Bigtop]

781!?

(Kind of reminiscent of Sayuri Sugawara's "Asu ni Naru Mae ni" single last year...)

[Pieces_of_SEVEN]

^I just can't. Probably didn't even make the money back that was spent on production. hm.

[PoetGirl]

Im always in fear that this will be her last release ever

curious to see what her next move will be, Japanese label are weird in that in many really low selling artist still release stuff I guess they are paid workers in contract unlike Western ones, I dunno

anyway maybe a label switch and go into musical theatre or acting

who knows

ahahaha me neither xD I didn't really like the DVD tracklist that much & it's not cheap buying it too -_-

I definitely will not mind buying MY COVERS if not for the fact that I'm being massively broke for this month due to just 1 artiste ahaha

[Utena]

^ yeah same here, if I order it it'll be in March I think, with OC's album

[KarenPang]

I guess MY COVERS took longer than expected to get released in Taiwan is maybe due to getting copyright royalty licensing issues in sorting out since it's a cover album

it's weird that MY COVERS could get released in Taiwan but both of BENI's covers albums couldn't o_O despite them being in the same record label

I don't understand the way record labels work sometimes xD
