I wonder if she going to lose fans? I imagine most of her fanbase in Japan liked her in part for her style, they may not care for her new image. I suppose by the same token, she could gain fans who didn't like her because of her style, but I feel like that is less likely.

She was & still will be known for her Lolita image + also her earlier works were very hands on produced by Mana
Not that her own works are not good but it's quite evident when you compare hers against Mana , Mana's still better if not more uniquely sounding :x

I have heard that in Japan, she's not really popular with the Lolita Syle (as in the West and as other artist with that image)
Personally, I think she's musically grow up and i will be waiting for more music from her, independ of the style she's gonna manage (i like her voice and her talent with the cello). PS Sorry for my bad english xD

It's very sad, cause i think is fault of Sony Music too (Kanon was on DefSTAR records) , Sony non spends with promotion / manage for theirs artist.
For example, when Nana Kitade (Sony Music) began to be Lolita, she promocionated on KERA, G&L Bible and another places relationated (anime, marks...) Kanon was only known to be produced by Mana and the Vampire Knight series... And Kanon hasn't good sales of her singles or albums because of these reasons. The most people buying their music was a fan of Mana or series in which the song was used, but isn't enought. I feel bad, because she's so talented and of course, i liked her Lolita Style because it was "different", but again, the last singles I've liked, regardless of the style that she was handled (Specially Foul Play ni Kurari x3 )

It's disappointing. She used to be very interesting with all that lolita cello creepy music style, now she is one of many generic pop artists whose music is just dull.

even up to now , I still don't know how to classify Kanon's music . It's no wonder DefSTAR Records have trouble trying to find ways how to promote/market her
Kanon never has been a strong seller for her material in the 1st place . While I applaud her for being unique (as up to now I can't think/find of another artiste that does what she do) , it's quite evident that the small bulk of her fans supported/bought CDs were probably fans of Mana so they probably did this to support Mana's 'muse' I don't know why Mana is not in charge of producing Kanon's works anymore , maybe they spilt cos of creative differences ?

^When Lolita Work Libretto was released, Mana has problems with the staff of Sony Music, also, Sony give to Kanon the opportunity of compose her own works but he remarks he still working with her.
With the release of Foul Play... Kanon left Sony Music, now works under Warner Music and the songs are totally of her creation.
