Movin On Without You is a shitty song - original or cover (in my opinion).
And what.s with the ”utada songs are hard to sing”? For the first half of her carrer she sang mostly basic pop/r&b tracks (which is not a bad thing, I do enjoy some of them) that almost any decent singer could sing. The problem is that ayu.s voice doesn.t fit these kind of urban songs. I have to admit that her ambiental/experimental stuff is good but not necessarily hard to sing. The thing is, even Utada herself doesn.t manage to sing them properly in her live appereances. She.s more of a good composer than singer.

Utada's music has a lot of key changes that are really hard to replicate live, and she herself is well aware of that (as she herself talked about it). A good singer can most likely sing them, but neither Ayu or Utada are good singers, on good days they are passable at best.

But considering you said Hikki sings properly live I already know this is a fruitless discussion... The girl misses more notes than she hits.

I actually like that ayu sings Movin' on without you.
She actually wants to show the Japanese how she rules over the original song putting life into it while having an up to date version.

The Utada cover was shocking and cool initially but now she's beating it like a dead horse. One performance as part of CDL was enough.

^she definitely needs to let go of that cover already... i'm sick of it. Instead give one of YOUR OWN songs a chance to see the light again. Seriously, Ayu =/

I'm ok with M and evolution because both songs are epic and awesome to me but SEASONS is so boring to me... MOWY, why not lol I love it and Step by Step was expected. I'm looking forward to the broadcast, I wanna know if she sang "Maria" with that american R again lol

Also about the things Coelacanth said: I actually agree with most of it, we saw that the Last Minute Performance had a positive effect on sales and the public, I think she should have sung one more song that is new rather than 3 old ones. Or just one from the gap between 2001 -> 2014 I mean she has plenty of amazing songs within that 13 (!!!) year period. Maybe substitute SEASONS with Love song or smth.. Something semi-new that's awesome.. that all IF she gets to decide any of that. But as I mentioned above I'm ok with it.

I think she's overused the concept, it's getting old (and kinda tacky TO ME, even tho I know it would appeal to the Japanese audience =))

Don't forget she said she wanna go back to basic again so wedding dress is a must lol. I think Asian has a thing for princessy thing and wedding and white dress and all things delicate and girlie. So whenever they see wedding dress they be like @_@

As a fan who never watch these old songs being performed in person, I will cry in happiness. But as a fans who've followed her for 15 years, this is kinda dissapointing.

There's a lot of popular wedding songs, so I guess it comes from there.
