[News] New mini album 'sixxxxxx' out August 5th, 2015 VI

I guess my ranking would be like this:

1. Shape of love
2. Sorrows (would be #1 together with SOL if it weren't for the awkward DJ sound in the bridge)
3. Sky high
4. Summer diary (very close to Sky high though)
5. Sayonara
6. Step by step

Though I really love all the songs, unlike any Ayu album. Though I can only listen to SBS when I'm in a certain mood, like when I need some motivation lol

Finally got my copy on Monday. My ranking is:

02 Sorrows
03 Shape of Love
04 Summer Diary
05 Sky High
06 Step By Step

(Although 3 and 4 could be interchangeable)

I also think it's her best set of PVs for a while and Sayonara is her best PV for me since Sweet Scar.

I can't rank the songs of sixxxxxx, because I really like them all. To me, it's a worthy successor of FIVE, minus the awful duet with Urata Naoya.
Where the global quality is 80% BRILLANTE and +- equally dispatched between the other tracks on FIVE, the quality of each track on sixxxxxx is magnificently well-balanced.
The only drawback with this release is the lack of music videos. With 6 full PV of the level of the 3 we already have, sixxxxxx would have been a major milestone in Ayu's discography since a long time.

That's my opinion.

I'm not really into sixxxxxx tbh, kinda went back to A ONE. Step by step is kind of annoying, and Sayonara is pretty embarrassing I'm surprised it gets so much love around here. Those guys can't sing for s**t and whatever happened to the melody of the chorus is a mystery to me.

Shape of love is a good ballad, better that some on A ONE, Sky High is one of those songs that I'm almost ashamed to like, and Sorrows is not bad but pretty forgettable I'd say. Summer Dairy is a surprise, I didn't expect it to be so catchy, but it's still not a song that I'd listen to everyday.

Anyways, what's good with Ayu is that if you don't appreciate her releases, you know there'll be another one in the next 6 months And as I said already, I'm far from being done with A ONE, still listening to Warning, Story and NO FUTURE as if they were brand new!

I have to disagree with you on that point.
On the youtube videos that I saw (DEPARTURES and Sayonara) she sounds clearly awfull. Like she can't sing at all, she couldn't make it to any TV show like The Voice or American Idol with a singing like that, honestly.

It screams standard pop. Every other song has something unique. But it's far from the worst song.
