I suspect when DEARS & TEARS were released , those were to fulfil the last few terms in her existing contract before she renewed it with Sony
Also I don't think a tribute album means it's a bad thing . Last year when globe's tribute album was released it was to celebrate their 20th anniversary For Mika's tribute album that will be out next week , it's to celebrate her 15th anniversary this year in the business so it's a joyous thing

idk how I feel about this the tribute album anymore based on the previews...
-Glamorous Sky: I mean....HYDE's English never did anything for me. Would have preferred that he stuck to the original lyrics. -I like the soft jazz thing that Aimer has going on with her ORION cover -I don't know what the hell is even happening with Ichiban kirei na watashi wo -I'll probably listen to Chihiro Onitsuka's cover of Fighter more than I listen to the original (though I'm not a huge fan of the song in general and wish she could have covered something else) -STARS sounds okay I guess -LIFE started out promising but.......it's instrumental? I get that Emiri Miyamoto is a great violinist but having an instrumental interpretation in the middle of all the other covers with vocals is so jarring -I like the sound of Koe but I don't know why I would choose to listen to this version over Mika's. It would have been amazing if like, SUPERFLY covered it -Why does the instrumentation in Ai Kotoba sound so synthetic and overprocessed? no thanks and some of the previews are too short to even tell what's happening in the song. idk guys, idk. |

lmao @ the cover of Ichiban Kirei na Watashi wo. The beginning cracked me up, I just can't.... I'm not sure about this one but the rest seems quite nice overall.
HYDE's cover is interesting, I can't understand a word of his English so I'll pretend it's some other language that I don't know/understand. Chihiro Onitsuka's take on Fighter is quite nice, I'm curious to listen to the full thing. STARS is ok, nothing too different but it feels nice to listen to someone else's version. A cover of Sakurairo Maukoro by K would have been nice, I would have preferred his voice over Kousuke Atari's weird vibrato. Mika should sing over Emiri Miyamoto's version of LIFE, it's beautiful. I do agree it's kind of weird to have an instrumental cover in the middle of everything, but I guess it's nice? I think it would have made a better opening or ending to the tribute album. I'm a bit disapointed by Mika's bff cover Kaori Mochida x CINEMA dub MONKS, it's short but I already know it's going to be annoying. The rest was already known so I'll skip on those :p previews are here: click away
