Because I feel like in the songs she sings in both Japanese and English, her English is sometimes harder to understand.

Maybe that's the problem. Though I had more trouble to understand her singing on _genic than on her recent singles.

^Ha! I do that too and then I try to sing it without the accent and it just doesn't sound right so I go back to my faux-Namie-Japanese/English-accent. Same thing happens with Koda Kumi songs xD

Speaking of Namie's English pronunciation I believe it's mostly depends on whoever is in charge of vocal direction for the song. If that person cares about it, then they will ask Namie to sing it with a proper pronunciation, if not, well then we get _genic.

Ok so I kinda liked MINT on my first listen and LOVED chit chat. Now I cannot get enough of MINT and chit chats just alright. The production on MINT is impeccable and so much better than the generic dance tracks of her last few albums. It's western but not too western. Very much in the same vein as her PAST<FUTURE work. MUST LISTEN WITH GOOD HEADPHONES!

I personally don't find it all that generic. At least not after _genic. I was kind of losing a little bit of hope for her a-side dance tracks because they were going in such a bland westernized direction. Each song sounded like the next both with singles and albums. (And this is coming from someone who actually liked _genic, when it's compared to a lot of the hate it got on here.) However, Mint, to me, is the song that is showcasing which direction she's going for her next album or what-have-you. It's the same yet different. When it starts to play I know what song I'm listening to, which shouldn't be such a big thing but it kinda is for Namie right now. xD I don't know what better way to describe it. Yeah, it's the same thing she always releases and yet it's different, it stands out a bit more than her previous releases.

But that's pretty much what Namie always does, throwing slight curveballs like that just to remind us that she still has game. xD

Well, to each their own, but I enjoyed Mint cause of the bass beats on chorus which are hot and the song is catchy, I can't help but keep on singing "he's mint mint he's mint mint" on random moments of my day Her voice also sounds good there, which is something that bothers me in Chit Chat, it seems a bit off of the instrumental
