For me I didn't notice the A BEST 2 remaster but A COMPLETE remaster was really significant to me |

as for A COMPLETE, yes, in my case I could clearly sense the remaster as well as I do with A BEST 2. the tracks are "louder" too in both cases. |

Nope, you've got me beat! I didn't start listening to Ayu until early '04.

I am a fan from A BEST era.
During year 2001, her popularity spread not only in japan, but also all over the world. I mostly get more of her album at Malaysia. I guess in Japan, it's almost impossible not to hear about Ayu during year of 2000. She was working like crazy. Maximum exposure at ads, CM, billboard, charts, merchandise. Everything she touched became gold. Even KOSE brand lipstick sales soared when she became the spokesperson. But I am amazed to still find a few of her original CD at Pontianak, a small town at West Borneo. The rest are bootleg VCDs. I got her LOVEppears album from my Taiwan Cousin, though. And downloaded her new releases, videos through dial ups 64kbps streaming. What an era. |

You're so knowledgeable about her career I would have thought you were a fan since Nothing from Nothing, haha!

haha, no I was just that obsessed. I was living in Japan in the mid-90s, so I saw Namie's very early career, but not Ayu's.
