^YES, it would be great if you could share it with us! I'm dying to hear some tracks that were not in tiny screams
End of the world is uploaded to spotify, and it sounds so good! It really do has 00's vibe in it, and her rawness fit quite well this time in my opinion. |

^ I feel the same, but at the same time, I feel like the 20th anniversary is a perfectly good thing to celebrate with a compilation album. It's too bad that record labels have worn out her name with so many best-of releases. This should be her second best-of release, not the fifth.
In any case, we now have the official album covers: Spoiler:
In addition, we have a trailer with more pictures from the photoshoot and a little snippet of the new song, Kakikake no Tegami: And to support the release, we have her first-ever appearance on NHK Songs on February 1st! She will sing Gekkou, Ryuuseigun and Kakikake no Tegami, backed by piano and a string quartet. |

For whatever undisclosed reasons, Chihiro's official Youtube channel has uploaded two concert recordings: the first one is CHIHIRO ONITSUKA『TUNE HOUR 2016』originally broadcast on Ustream on January 28th, 2016 (why is this the first time I hear of this performance?!), and the second one is the first stop of her syndrome concert tour at CLUB CITTA on April 13th, 2017. The syndrome performance is filmed with a static overhead camera, and the sound is recorded on the camera's microphone (so not the highest of qualities), this is not the official recording that ended up on DVD.
Chihiro sounds pretty ok in the first one, and she actually sounds great in the syndrome performance! So check these videos out if you feel inclined (or if you're in need of background music like I am). Live Streaming Archive: CHIHIRO ONITSUKA『TUNE HOUR 2016』 (28.01.2016) Live Streaming Archive: Chihiro Onitsuka Concert tour 2017『syndrome』(13.04.2017, CLUB CITTA) |

I have pre-ordered the album on a whim just as it was announced.
I am glad that they included SUBURBIA but for the Blu Ray version they will use a set of different angles so I think it's pretty neat

I also think it's cool that they're releasing a whole different cut of the concert. The setlist for SUBURBIA is pretty good too! I'm happy she's now acknowledging the existence of Ken to Kaede.
![]() By the way, more information about the album from her official site: the album is based on a recently rediscovered old demo tape of hers, recorded around her debut. The lyrics are all new though! The whole record is produced by Shu Kanematsu who previously did last year's End of the World, also featured on this album. Also, I find it interesting that the band credits feature credits for fiddle and banjo, not the most common sounds on Chihiro's records! |

End of the World was a good song I thoroughly enjoyed it so I wouldn't mind a ballad or two in similar fashion.
She could come up with something interesting since she's experimenting with new sounds/instruments. Banjo and fiddle could mean something upbeat? I am pretty excited for this.

I also really enjoyed End of the World, and it's a beautifully produced song, a promising sign for the album.
I agree banjo and fiddle seem to indicate something upbeat and folksy. I hope whatever song(s) they are on turn out good! |

Yakeru Kawa was released digitally today! I'm... kinda floored by how much I love it. Everything is RIGHT. Her voice, the melody, the production/arrangement wow I can't say enough good things about the production... When the strings swell and the drums hit in the bridge, it's OVER! And the single cover is another beautiful shot! She's got such great visuals for this era. Last edited by Kacku; 14th October 2020 at 03:24 PM. |
