T^T They CAN'T!! I mean seriously, I think BoA is only good for awhile and then it gets kinda the same. I think Ayumi would last LOTS longer.

well i agree with the people viewing this in terms of sales. ayu has sold so much more than BoA could ever hope to...

Ayumi still has strong sales, even though they've dropped.
so i don't think they'll plan to replace her.

yeah. i heard this last year. o_O

I read that since Max is the president .... excuse and I just want to say.

Max is a business man. His main goal is to get what sells out there. Currently Ayu is one of the top sellers. Eventually she won't be. Will he still promote her heavily because of their friendship? Probably not. It's business, nothing personal.

Can we say "old news?" This was posted originally like a year ago...it's not true I'm sure. Besides, why replace Ayu when they can just have both, and get money from both? Haha!

How about a little less bashing and a little more reality? People really should stop confusing talent with taste, and not get so defensive over their favorite stars.

touchedstar is right, Avex isn't stupid. Yes, Ayu puts them in a very edgy situation -- when Ayu goes, they're at a great loss. But Avex also has some of Japans top artists, they just had an audition in 2002, they just finished another huge audition last month, and they're planning another for next year. They're not at a loss of up and coming talent. Then, BoA has earned them a lot of money -- she's, what? No. 6 in Japan? No company would be so idiotic as to put its own artists at a sales war. It's one thing if they want BoA (or any other artist) to be as well-selling as Ayu (it makes sense if Ayu decides to quit the biz cold turkey), but they would never try to knock Ayu out of the game on purpose. They would only do that if Ayu was LOSING them money, and if they had an artist close on Ayu's tail to catch the fall.

Sure, one day Ayu will be out of the game, but now with CAROLS (her 30-somethingth single) debuting at #1, it doesn't look like that day is near. She's still going strong.

Conclusion? Yes, Avex is trying to build up its army of money-makers and booty-shakers. Hence all the auditions and upped promotion of other artists. But this is backup (a rainy-day fund, if you will) for Ayu's final days. No, they are not trying to knock Ayu out. They will squeeze that money tree til the last drop.

Nobody has anything to complain about -- chill.

they have been trying to do so for the past 2 or 3 yaers. avex is worried that ayu will suddenly go and marry, and quit music, and hence avex has to find someone who can generate revenue to replace ayu. you know, in ayu's prime days, her revenue accounts for 40% of avex's revenue!!!!!

He picked ayumi as a miserable aidoru and found her hidden talent. I don't think his relationship with ayu is that of a cold businessman, even if business comes beforehand.

Friendship and business are two different things. Though he picked her up then .. if she were to make the company lose money .. he's not going to keep her on just because they're friends.

I know business and friendship aren't exactly intertwined however I've got to see that influences have a large weight on your life. Some people get very high privileges just because they are relatives of important people. Business is not always all about being cold and rational.

As much of a BoA fan I am, no one cna ever replace Ayu.....it's impossible.

I better get out of this thread cuz I'm hearing some stuff about BoA that makes me want to slit the poster's throat and slice their body in half.

Well I agree with you in this part, that she would probabgly be put into a second perspective, however max would still probably put more efforts in ayu than if it were somebody else. I dunno how to explain it better though. I'm not into max's flesh though so it doesn't mean what i'm saying is indeed right, it's just what i think

Ayumi causing a loss in money? Haha I'd have to see that to believe it.
