Isn't it just that obvious? That we're all connected. When the cities appear in all those places they leave cracks. Those cracks are connected to the other cracks.
There are two people who mesh together. They're connected. The guy on the bike and the girl about to jump off are connected to each other, but not to society.

Well, I'm not really sure how to word it... hm..
We're all connected to each other because of techonogy. But that is going to be the cause of society's downfall, because there's so much chaos in the world. The guy on the bike thing is trying to get away from society.
