When you hear bjork you don't think "guitars" you think "strings" or "synthisizer". Bjork has always been kind of edged more towards r&b/jazz (I wouldnt say her beats are pop because they've never been bubble gum) I think even Thom Yorke said this and it's kind of evedent in her early stuff, say Human Behavior and Possibly Maybe. I think her and Timberland would work good together (but it's odd because most artist go to Timberland to boost their career, I think I'd rather see Bjork and Missy Elliot work together). I think bjork is really brave though, I mean who thinks of Bjork and Timberland together?

That's like when Utada worked with him on Exodus. I was hesitant at first, but it turned out to be a pretty great album, at least in my opinion. Who knows? It may turn out to be incredible.

Timbo seems to love Bjork so much that a track from this collaboration will apear on Timbo's album, due out in March. Can you imagine Bjork going mainstream?

IMO, Bjork is trip-hop music.

Yeah, I mean... before she hit her experimental phase with Homogenic, she was actually somewhat mainstream. I mean, she still had her unique style about her, and I have no doubts she'll keep it for this album - she managed to do this for jazz and dance/club songs. Hell, Alarm Call had a rather hip-hop feel to it. I imagine we'll get something along those lines. (I love me some Alarm Call.)

New stuff? Do you mean Medulla? If so, I agree to an extent. The album's singles are wonderful, but some of the songs were just ughhhh...

Medulla was a dream for me. Everything about it was very natural, organic. It must've been hell trying to make a full-length album with so few man-made instruments. And "Ancestors" and "The Pleasure is All Mine" are the only two vocal songs in the history of mankind that literally scared me to death. I literally have to cut "Ancestors" off half way through because those damn throat noises freak me the hell out. I love it ^_^.

But definitely not an album for everyone.

other than that...I dunno, it sounded like someone just now learning how to make music on a Casio keyboard made it...Come on Bjork! We know you're a lot better than that.

My favoriting album was Debut...every song grabbed my attention when I first bought it. Amazingly I bought it so I could hear Venus as a Boy but when I just let it play on my CD player...I liked every other song more than Venus as a Boy hehe, that was my 2nd Bjork album I bought.

Bjork Drafts Timbaland, Antony For New Album

Bjork has worked with a typically eclectic crew of collaborators on her next album, due in late spring via Atlantic. According to a post on the artist's Web site, the as-yet-untitled album features two tracks produced by Timbaland and another two featuring vocals by Antony Hegarty of Antony and the Johnsons.

Additional guest appearances have been turned in by Toumani Diabate on kora, Konono No. 1 on electric thumb piano and drumming from Lightning Bolt's Brian Chippendale. "This record is a Bjork production par excellence," the site says. "No stone left unturned to seek out the perfect pitch."

Is that a new promo pic for the album in the article? It looks pretty interesting.

Timbaland? :S well I hope her new album will have the same weird unique bjork-style as some of her previous works.. Human Behaviour, Army of me, Bachelorette, Joga etc.. those are just soooo...Bjork.. she only is a genre..

Thanks for the news. However, that isn't a promotional picture for the new album. As much as I absolutely adore it, that picture was taken awhile ago, as I've had it saved on my computer for a long time.

Oh thank heavens only 2 Timbaland produced tracks. When it first came out that she was working with Timbaland I thought she was going to do a Nelly Furtado and have him produce the entire album.
Just two tracks though is more than tolerable, maybe even somewhat enjoyable.

She need's to bring back the electronic influences. Medulla was so sparse and dull (and don't get me started on the Drawing Restraint soundtrack.)
I miss Homogenic Bjork and too a lesser extent the more subdued electronic beats of Vespertine
