[Thoughts] BLUE BIRD PV

I liked the PV. It seems like they were REALLY having a lot o fun, there. I'm glad that Ayu is having some fun, with all this work, lately.
Indeed, it is a simple PV. Maybe representing a happy life, with your friends memories always in your heart, having fun always. I don't know... something like this.

just because she is on a beach it has to be like fairyland....

so I guess since she is on a yatch in the sea she must be copying Jay-Z's Big Pimpin video....(being sarcastic)

and some people fail to realize that its a happy song something to get you dancing and having fun

doesnt necessarily have to have a deep meaning to be good

but whatever floats your boat go with it

This PV is way better than "fairyland". Just because she's on a beach, it HAS to be "fairyland".

I love the scenes when shes walking on the beach! The color of the sand is beautiful, and the water is so blue!
Ayumi looks like she's having so much fun, and it's the happiest PV I've ever seen.
It was so cute when Shuya ran then jumped XD

The pillows on the boat match the CD covers

Anyways, not a bad PV, the scenery is beautiful and it's cute. I wouldn't mind watching it again.

After watching it once and skimming through 15 pages of posts, that's been wandering of in all different directions (), I'll post my thoughts on the PV.

It remided me a bit of the other summer PVs.

It felt like fairyland, but with the 'deep' part removed and more romance added.

It felt a bit like INSPIRE, but with more cheerfullness and not an as serious message.

I enjoyed the PV, the best one of 2006 this far. I will watch it again, which I won't with for example 'BTB...'.

The camera work and angles was good and I liked the cutting aswell, some scenes was a bit weird though, the camera man was playing around a bit too much and going too far, I think. Even if it felt a bit 'rushed' and possibly 'cheap' (don't entirely agree on it being cheap after thinking some about helicopters etc) I get the feeling that it is very well made.

The complete cheerfullness of it filled me to the edge and I was smiling when I watched it, I particularly enjoyed two scenes, the one where she was standing at a mountain and the ones when she was riding the water scooter.

I'm very happy they left out the CGing for once, including CGing REALLY makes a PV look cheap, and it's indeed the cheapest thing you can do. *thinks biking part in Startin', speech in Ladies Night, 'robots' of INSPIRE etc*. This PV gave me a feeling it's genuine.

It was not the most enjoyable or deep PV, but it is perfect for the theme of the song. The PV definately made me love the song more, and looking at the PV was the second time ever I heard this song .

I found this post particularly interesting, and I agree with everything in it. Thanks ruixiong89. I will smile and sigh every time I look at that scene when you can notice the cameramans shadow, it was the scene I disliked the most when I watched this PV the first time.

Now I think I'm gonna watch it some more to see if I can come up with more thoughts on it.

She is wearing a weee bit too much makeup, but it was even worse in fairyland ^^'

CGing does not always have to be cheap, but when it's used to 'fill out' a PV it really is.

All of her other summer songs had a theme and at least some creativity, but right now, I'm losing interest in Ayu's PVs.

I never thought of that he wrote game too O.o But when I heard the harmonies/melody of BF game was the first thing that popped into my mind, allthough the feel of the song is quite diffrent.

The song is PERFECT! But the PV is not. I agree - second version Fairyland.. and a little boring. The best part is Ayumi on the beach. YAY!! The sea. She really had a chance to make an awsome PV with this song...

this PV is lame, boring and all summery...it looks like they abandoned her in that deserted island because her "friends" could not stand another PV like INSPIRE and fairyland... what a boring PV i almost fell asleep in watching that.

after watching it again basically its what it is, a happy fun time PV. I personally don't like these videos all that much but I did like the blue and white contrast when she was standing alone with the water/sand/coulds/sky.

I spotted ayu's opening her arms wide in the hillside scene, does this represent she's the bird which is going to fly as freely as she wants? LOL, freaky theory............xdd

It probably cost the most of Born to Be, BLUE BIRD, and Startin'..

I think startin' was cheap. It was just outfits, a few dudes in it, and some computer generations and animations.
I do agree it was probably the most expensive, though. Who cares though, all three of those PVs sucked in my opinion.

Still though, seeing ruixiong89's post has actually made me like the PV and song a little bit more. I still think Ayu could be trying harder though.

Right, I was thinking they're pretty cheap nowadays (or maybe they really are now?), but the website about the most expensive videos tells something opposite, that many videos became really expensive due to CG usage... the morphing technique is supposedly pretty expensive... but it's 2006 now (and it's high-tech Japan), I dunno how it loooks...


And I wonder how much did they pump up the colours in the video. When you look at Fairyland, just the moment when the PV starts, you can see how they real footage was not so much juicy-green and perfect-blue, it was pretty bright and not so paradise-looking, and when the camera gets closer to the shore, the colours simply get brighter, stronger and all better-looking!! I wouldn't be surprised if they did touch ups for the colours in BLUE BIRD PV as well, becouse it looks really nice, sometimes too nice...
