I think it's funny too, I mean I said it would sell at least 700-800k for the first week, she got close to it, and then I KNEW it would hit past a million but everyone else was saying she wouldn't and what do you know?! She did it!

^I knew she was going to sell over a million with this album, too. She was prime for the million-seller what with the boost in sales beginning with her PLAY album, and the 60s70s80s hit.

I can't wait until Amuro Namie releases something new. I mean, it would do her well to wait for a while to increase hype for her next production, but I really do want some new beats. I think she and her producers have the whole Asian Hip-Hop/Urban style right. It's distinct from American Hip-Hop, and it sounds great.

But yea, I can't wait til she releases something new either. It seems AVEX is trying to play it safe with her popularity by not overexposing her a lot. Maybe next year will be a big for her as well.

^It's a smart tactic not to overexpose her. It could give her more lasting power as a popular artist (and I think her producers at avex are hoping to reinvigorate a new wave of The Amura Boom). We wouldn't want her superpopularity fizzling a bit from overexposure like Koda Kumi (now don't go and harpoon me for saying this--you can't deny that Koda Kumi's sales aren't exactly what they used to be in the BEST~second session~ / Black Cherry days despite the economic increase in the Japanese Music Industry of late).

I actually never really thought about how well it would sell at first, but when it broke a million, I wasn't surprised. I was too busy focusing on how I was going to snag a copy myself hahaha

I hope she releases something before the end of the year... a christmas ballad or something maybe... I'm loving the hip pop, but I think a slow R&B track would set the mood for the season and be a great way to close a tremendous year for Namie <333

That's the problem with some artists. They just keep releasing back to back to back and you get sick of them. Maybe if Namie took the Utada approach she could become a constant seller, as described above, instead of selling well here and flopping there. I guess we'll see with her next Proper Studio Album if this was a flook or not.

I think the real problem is the J-market itself. If you don't keep releasing and keep your face in public, you'll seriously be forgotten. Koda is a victim of overexposure. After release of Best ~Second Session~, AVEX simply should have slowed down on her releasing. It's like now, people knwo to expect when an album will be out from her and thus giving less incentive to buy her singles. =/ Kingdom was prolly suppose to be another million seller but I guess with the scandal and stop of the album's promotion, that prediction didn't come true.
