Max is stepping down as CEO, but he goes back being a producer and doing more on the creative side like before.
He's not retiring.

And why shield her from criticism?
She's not the only avex artist officially producing herself with a controversial image or decisions.
Tho back then it might have been because of her connections and status in the company.
And considering she doesn't allow any comments anymore even today, it might also because Ayu is just sensitive about this stuff. Everyone is different.

It's been 2+ years since she disabled comments.

I wouldn't say non-stop but there were a lot of nasty comments on Twitter and Insta. Remember that jacket she wore with the imperial flag? Man did that spark controversy...

I remember this one post she made saying she got a bit tipsy after a couple of shots of tequila from months of not drinking at all and several comments crucified her for it.

I think people got nastier and nastier over time.

The big things were probably when she got a bit drunk and the disparity between her Instagram shots and how she appeared in live appearances on TV and such. Both times she made posts on TeamAyu as well. Honestly, comment sections on social media tend to be really bad so I'm surprised she didn't disable them earlier. People would also fight with each other in her comments as well iirc.

Looking back, the disabling was around 11/20/2017 but nothing in particular was going on at the time. However leading up to that was a lot of "drama" on IG but nowhere near as bad as Twitter before she stopped that.

excited for whatever content they are planning of course. though I'm kinda hoping that this quarantine would compel her to do a long-overdue rest so she can resume the tour or record an album with a better vocal performance. but you do you, Queen!

「サイゴノトラブル」を楽しみに待って下さっていた皆様へ


今回、ステージに乗る私たち演者全員をはじめ、全ツアースタッフ、そしてご来場下さる皆様の安全性を最優先 に考慮し関係各所と話し合いを重ねた結果、完全な感染防止策を講じることは現時点では困難だと判断し、初演 の埼玉2日間のみという、スタートしたばかりのツアーですが、残り36公演全てを中止とさせて頂く決断に至 りました。待ち続けて頂いた皆様へご不便をおかけする形となってしまいました事、本当に申し訳ない気持ちで いっぱいです。
心よりお詫び申し上げます。

長く厳しい準備期間を経てやっと幕が開いたところで始まった自粛要請でしたので、メンバーにとっても、全ス タッフにとっても、そして皆様にとっても、苦しい日々のなか、それでもとにかく待って頂くお願いしか出来な い状況だった上に、この様な報告をしなければいけない事、、心がちぎれる想いです。

実は、この38公演のサイゴノトラブルツアーの後に、アリーナツアーの開催を予定していました 。
例年通りの形とは少しずつ変わっていくのかも知れませんが、エンターテイメントの持つ力を絶対に諦めず、ア リーナツアーの開催が皆様にとってポジティブなエネルギーに溢れる夢として存在することを信じ、私たちはス テージを創造し続けて行きますので、また必ず再会しましょう！！！

最後になりますが、一日も早く新型コロナウイルス感染症が収束し、皆様と皆様にとって大切な方々が心身共に 安心して過ごせる優しい日々が戻って来る事を心から祈っています。

Ayu posted this on her fb 30 mins ago. All i could get was she actually intended to do an Arena Tour after Saigo no TROUBLE but plans are changing

Having no new material I'm curious to know what name she would have chosen for this.

By "arena" it means a tour like before? No halls?

It'd probably have been an arena offshoot of Saigo no TROUBLE given the affinity for that theme ending in either Yoyogi or Saitama perhaps?
