In terms of physical sales, her singles (which is what we're talking about) haven't sold really well in quite some time.

Of course I was talking about her singles, her physical sales normally dont represent if the song is doing good or not. For example: Red Carpet was #2 on oricon but was a flop. Brighter day was #8 on Oricon but was a hit.

The olympics started and as expected, the song is becoming a hit. Is #1 in recochoku, itunes, and more digital music charts and is going up in Oricon too.

I think she's got a good strategy of keeping a lot of the singles off of the albums because then when she releases a best of, they are actually worth buying.

I think they're saving up a best, be it singles or collabs best, for the next year, which is her 25th anniv, so I wouldn't be surprised if there's no studio album this year (plus the tour is gonna be really long and take much of her time also)
