Green is one of my favourite pv ! I think shimomura is not the best to realise Ayu pv and shoots but sometimes he does something beautiful ^^

@Ayumi Lover- We all have things we like and not, but there are way more scenes in LD & Sparkle then S/S pvs have combined x infinity.

Maybe people don't like Kazu's work because he kinda single handily warped Ayu from being a sweet elegant mature woman from Secret/Guilty ~> into a fierce strong Diva (sex symbol too ) In AC and NL. Ayu visited the sexy theme before like in My name is Women & Step you, however her sexiness is greatly expanded in Sparkle & Lady Dynamite. It's just more explicit lol.

Oh yeah its obvious that the fish face doesn't work with ayu because she has an innocence to her personality that we all knew and loved. It makes her look lost like in S/S covers. Haha... In his other works, such as Kuu~ where the fish face actually works since Kuu has this sexy sultry look & personality.

^Well, I don't agree... IMO the problem is not "what fits Ayu", it's "what fans expect from Ayu". People who is not really in touch with her work usually has no problem with Kaz videos or photoshots...

sorry but aren't we giving Kazuyoshi Shimomura too much credit? Most of the posts here that like his PVs are praising the theme/plot of the PVs or something that obviously wasn't thought by him... if we wanna "like" his PVs then please like his directing (which is choppy and inconsistent) and his technique of making Ayu look really... unflattering (glass booth + walking in the streets in Mirrorcle World, walking in the streets in GREEN, the whole of Sparkle except the beginning and ending, the part where she was waiting in line for the gay club in Lady Dynamite). yeah.

I mean I guess you could say I like bashing him, but seriously the things about the PVs he directed that people like aren't even his credit...

Really, if this thread is about what people like on his work, why u keep posting here about how much u think he sux? @_@ I mean, u already have the rest of the forum to do that, and you DO that on the rest of the forum xD

okay... I'll just say one last thing about his "bashing"... I just don't think it's really -right- that people are praising him for things he hasn't done, you know? Like liking the theme/plot/setting of the GREEN PV for example wasn't done by him... he just added a stain, that's all...

BUT ANYWAY, to be really on-topic, I think his PVs are really some of the most interesting PVs I've seen... most of them are pretty ambiguious and "shallow" if you must say, that it kinda interests me... I think GREEN & Lady Dynamite are his 2 best works

haha in a way he seems pretty lucky to direct some of the more interesting Ayu PVs in the recent years. I could almost swear if he directed the Sunrise/Sunset PVs omfg I would hate him even more and hate the single even more too

GREEN is surprisingly unique (the atmosphere and era of Ang Lee movie, Lust / Caution).

Lady Dynamite is surprisingly horrible (the song itself, especially the lyrics, is nice, though).

waterballoon, you're a nice guy, please don't become like those people who think that because they hate the way something looks means it should universally look horrible :3 People have their own opinions and tastes, and some people like what Kazuyoshi has done. It's their right to have those opinions, so if you wanna bash him make a "Kazuyoshit" thread kay :3?

Ayumi pick her directors based on the effect she wants on the PV... All of Kazu's videos deals with sexuality one way or another for example... The same guy (whose name I don't remember) directed most of her storyline videos, also all of Luis Hernandez videos deals with similar themes...

Kazu is not lucky, she likes the way he portrays those themes (including here visual themes) u found interesting
