I disagree that AKB48 and Arashi's going to win... AKB48 and Arashi are just groups with a bunch of fangirls, while Ayu's showing off pure originality, nothing like Arashi's doing, and AKB48's a theatre group... (!)

And, uhh...Justin Bieber? Why would an American boy around my age be part of an awards competition where we've got Ayu, Arashi, AKB48 and such!?

Ayu performing would be a very good way for Billboard to become a household name in Japan like it is in the USA. Since Billboard is relatively new to Japan if I'm right.

....if you were an arashi fan, you would know that arashi are not just a group who has fangirls and they actually do have talent (artists AND boybands can have talent, you know). making them look bad by making ayumi seem like the only artist in japan who has "pure originality" (FYI, it's 2010. not everything in this world is original nowadays, even ayumi) isn't really a smart move.

I have no clue either, I was wondering about that because Gackt is part of Avex and before that Crown and they aren't consider Independent either. Maybe they didn't know how to categorize him?

OK I don't like Gaga but I don't get that either I thought She was fairly popular in Japan. Also how is it Ke$ha and Owl City and some other American artist are on the list but Lady Gaga isn't. The nominations doesn't make any sense to me or even the category, why is there one for Jazz and yet no category for Rock and why is there so many people nominated, usually its about 4-6 people nominated for a category not 56.
