I was gonna say BRILLANTE, but I think that was more of the fans' fault because everybody kept saying what a masterpiece it was and how flawless it was and how they don't need air if they had that track. I listened to it with really high expectations, and wasn't blown away by it.

I guess for me it'd have to be...Wow I don't really know lol. I'm not disappointed in what Ayu does music-wise since the music will grow on me sooner or later (Love songs is way guilty of this lol). So I honestly don't know D:

EDIT: Oh seeing FoObY posting the Sunrise/Sunset cover gave me a lightbulb haha. Yeah those covers were way disappointing, considering she went to Bali (which is beautiful) and we got those...

I become an Ayu fan in 2008, so I'll only talk about her activities since then

- The release of GUILTY, NEXT LEVEL (especially identity and LOVE'n'HATE), Rock'n'Roll Circus, Love songs, FIVE ( I'm not even sure why I'm an Ayu fan haha)
- CDL 07-08
- Most of her photoshoots with Kazuyoshi
- The overuse of her dancers in EVERYTHING SINGLE THING
- FIVE Collabs (not because I hate Naoya or JUNO, but I expected an all-original Ayumi Hamasaki album and not "Ayu+friends")
- Sunrise/Sunset covers
- 48/49/50 singles - There was just all of this hype around them, but they sound like regular songs, so I blame the hype...
- Her boyish hair... I'm fine with short hair, but it was just so short when she cut it!
- GREEN PV (it had such a huge budget, but it didn't really go anywhere )

I don't understand what's the point of reminding yourselves what made you feel disappointed, isn't that just sad/depressive?

^who even cares anyways...

hmmm....I think I've been disappointed with a lot of little things...

but I think FIVE really takes the cake.

I feel like, as a mini album, JUST a mini album, there were so many possible ways that something like FIVE could have gone down...and instead, she chose to use this kind of music...and, it's actually kind of insulting to her ideas I think, because the music is nowhere near as strong as it could be to properly pull off those ideas.

And I think BRILLANTE is just, evidence of that. An amazing track, and all of the tracks could have been equally amazing, or at least somewhere near, and instead, we get all of these badly produced and boring as hell R&B tracks with completely awful vocals.

So, yeah, it's disappointing....but well, as long as she's happy. It's certainly an interesting turn of events.

and yeah, Sunrise/Sunset covers. There was so much anticipation cause she was in such a beautiful place...and then we get THAT?

In my opinion... NEXT LEVEL. The CD cover... the songs... is just not her style. The only song that I think that represent her well is Curtain Call...

- (miss) understood cover and booklet. Man ayu could shoot it in another place or another theme. it's totally blur!!!

- Daybreak & AUDIENCE. Not the song, but the physical single (and it's a recut single). I think if she hadn't ever released those singles, she would have achieved the longest consecutive no.1 singles.

- She broke up with Nagase, well I have no rights to control Ayu's life.

I think that's all

That Sunrise/Sunset cover reminded me of when we didn't know the next album was Rock 'n' Roll Circus and I remember that single and You were.../BALLAD (Though BALLAD is amazing) came out and they really didn't get me excited for the next album at all (they were good... don't get me wrong ).

That's the only thing I think holds Rock 'n' Roll Circus back from being an amazing piece of work; the singles. They don't blend with the album and were made (I think) without any kind of forward thinking as to what the album was going to be, what it was going to sound like and what direction the whole thing was going to go in.

I must say that I deleted my post. First of all because I am not a troll posting those kindof things to see others reactions. I patiently read your replies and felt quite ashamed. I remembered the beginnings of my ayu fandom on 2008 and I felt so bad of thinking that about Ayu. For different reasons this year has been disappointing for my Ayu fandom and maybe I said something I shouldnt. Anyway, I dont like her husband at all, but knowing Ayu she only could have married him for love

I think you've just demonstrated your maturity admitting you've maybe dared too much with your claim. Anyway I think that reactions like yours take root in disappointment and disappointement takes root in love (and fandom in this case).
If we're not interested in something we don't feel anything instead disappointment is a real feeling.
