Man some of you guys are really mean :/ Maybe Ayu and Tyson realized they're just better off friends instead of lovers, she did say it was mutual. It does take two people to make a relationship (of any kind) work. I feel bad for both of them. The few pictures we saw of them (and few things Ayu said about him) they seemed happy together.

The moment I saw the headlines, I was more worried of that media shitstorm that's gonna happen next. Media will be brutal, and destroy her nicely rebuilt image for fuck's sake. :/ And then people will jump in. This will be the biggest Ayu related shitstorm since the Maro issue in 2012-2013. D:

I wish saigodansu was still on this forum because I can just see him citing his conspiracy theories (which I enjoyed as they entertained me by the way) as an "I TOLD YOU SO," lol.

He's also the one who got offended when ayu started showing support towards the gay community. Like the divine ayu guy. Ayu's too good for them anyways, it would be an insult for her music to reach their ears. But at the same time, they are usually someone you would say is a sad person (and not with their mood) Either way these horrible comments get this response ![]() ![]()

"I'm not afraid of anything anymore" was what she said in her post on September 2.
I guess she's ready for it!

One thing I'm quite happy with her for this relationship, though it has ended, is that she has treated it quite low-profile throughout these 3 years of time, compared to Mr. M last time, and though I'm sure the media won't miss a chance to mess with it, she seems quite happy and positive lately with her on-going music performances.
(Now I think of it and wonder, is there any song in M(A)DE IN JAPAN that dedicated to this separation at the time when she was writing the lyrics? Mr. Darling sounds so sweet...) |

I'm sad to hear of her separation. Tyson and her looked nice together. Regardless of how much hate I get for this: I'm not surprised at all. I have no clue why Ayu married an American who wasn't migrating permanently to Japan. She spoke previously in an interview about how she has her life in Japan, and then her life with him in the US. (Something, something, she goes to spend time with him in the US - something, something - she gets away from who she is in Japan for awhile...) And it struck me as a bit odd to be so happy about having two lives, one to herself and one with her husband. But more so, it sounded like the same lifestyle that ultimately ended her relationship with Manny (him wanting to stay in the US, her wanting to stay in Japan). To be completely honest, Ayu needs to meet someone in Japan who wants to stay in Japan. Doesn't matter if he's Asian, White, Black, or Saudi. She just needs to be with someone who plans to build a life in Japan. For someone who has so earnestly lived a double life (one in Japan, one overseas), Ayu really needs to settle into one identity. She can't be the biggest selling female Japanese artist of all time AND be some nice unknown Japanese girl in America. She really needs to buckle down and affirm to herself that she is either AYUMI HAMASAKI or no longer AYUMI HAMASAKI, but she can't be both, or be one today and the other tomorrow. Feel free to throw your shade at me. But I'm pretty confident that Ayu knew marrying an American would present the same obstacles she had with the last American she married. I think she genuinely thought this one would work out differently. But the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over expecting different results. I hope she can work through this positively.

I know Ayu said she's the type of person who likes to fall in love over and over again so I know she can get through this. I guess it's just sad and maybe a little frustrating when we see her get hurt by the same kind of scenario again.

This whole thing of Ayu living a double life reminds me of Marilyn Monroe. This was written by Amy Greene, her good friend and wife of Marilyn’s personal photographer Milton Greene. “I’ll never forget the day Marilyn and I were walking around New York City, just having a stroll on a nice day. She loved New York because no one bothered her there like they did in Hollywood, she could put on her plain-jane clothes and no one would notice her. She loved that. So as we we’re walking down Broadway, she turns to me and says ‘Do you want to see me become her?’ I didn’t know what she meant but I just said ‘Yes’- and then I saw it. I don’t know how to explain what she did because it was so very subtle, but she turned something on within herself that was almost like magic. And suddenly cars were slowing and people were turning their heads and stopping to stare. They were recognizing that this was Marilyn Monroe as if she pulled off a mask or something, even though a second ago nobody noticed her. I had never seen anything like it before.” If this story is 100%, I can't say, and I don't think it matters. It's still a good metaphore. Marilyn Monroe did this thing, being MARILYN MONROE one moment and NORMA JEAN the next. And how did that work out for her? I'm not saying Ayu will start taking drugs (or her own life), I'm just saying it seems that no matter how hard celebrities especially want to have a normal life outside their performing life, it litterally means to split yourself into two pieces - that doesn't sound healthy and doubt it would last and end happily for anyone. The earlier postings here I thought were mostly very pleasant and supportive of Ayu and I felt happy that everyone was coming together for her.
But now I feel this thread is going to get dramatic. Everyone has to try and be Ayu's number 1 fan and think they are superior. Such divas. ![]() It is very unnessesary to get so upset over this. Seriously, just keep supporting Ayu and ignore all the online gossip. Who cares about the fake fans and media? Don't get swept away by this news, it will bring out the lower parts of you. It would be wise to not dwell on this news. Just like it is not good to dwell over a failed relationship. Toxic. I bet Ayu will get over this faster than a lot of other people out there. ![]() Spoiler:
