Wow. I thought I heard somewhere that Britney was going to quit music for a long time, and when she came back she would use the name Britney Federline, hence the Britney Spears Greatest Hits CD.
But then agan, Britney is very unpredictable...

lol this song is horrible!
Britney won't use Britney Federline o.o her artistical name will still be Britney Spears, she'll just put "Federline" to her name, since she's got married. Well, that's what I read lol
And since the "Britney" album I don't like her, and her music x.x

It's gonna be the first single off her new album. Believe it or not.

Gonna be terrible.

Mona Lisa' was recorded last fall, before singer injured her knee.

Just weeks after Britney Spears announced that she was taking an extended break from her career to focus on her family, she's plunging into work on a new album. A spokesperson from Jive Records confirmed that Spears is in the "very early" stages of working on an album, which is not yet on the label's release schedule.

In a surprise visit, Spears played a rough mix of a song from the album Thursday night on KIIS-FM in Los Angeles to get some fan reaction. "We got a call on the request line from Britney Spears saying she wanted to come by and play her new song," KIIS-FM music director Julie Pilat said. "Then she showed up and world-premiered her new song," which is called "Mona Lisa."

"It definitely has the raw thing going on it," Spears said during her station visit. "I recorded this song when I was on tour, right before I hurt my knee [see "Britney's Fall: The Never-Before-Seen Footage"]. It was done, I think, four or five months ago. My band, we didn't use ProTools or anything with it. It's all live. There's a lot of stuff you can do to make it better. It's going to get better. It will get better — this is a really, really rough mix."

Spears dedicated the song — a slinky, midtempo number with a descending synth line that recalls 'NSYNC's "It's Gonna Be Me" — to all the "legends and icons out there." The song's lyrics begin, "Ladies and gentlemen, I've got a story to tell/ About Mona Lisa, and how she suddenly fell/ See, everyone knew her, they knew her so well/ Now I am taking over to release her from her spell." The song continues to lament Mona Lisa's "fall", calling her "unforgettable" and "unpredictable," and cautions listeners not to have a "breakdown": "You will hit the freakin' wall."

Though Spears said she wants "Mona Lisa" to be the first single from the new album, she hasn't yet decided on a title for the project, though she's leaning toward The Original Doll. "It's untitled right now," she said during her visit to KIIS-FM. "It's not even all the way done." She also said that she hoped to release the album "probably before summertime, or maybe a little sooner than that."

I don't get what you're trying to point out. She said it's gonna be the first single off Original Doll.

Eh...I don't like it, but I didn't like My Prerogative when I first heard it either. I can see it growing on me, but as of now, I think it sucks.

Her songs get worse and worse.

"Britney" album is worse than "Oops!" album.
"In The Zone" is worse than "Britney".
"GH: MP" is worse than "ITZ"
"Mona Lisa" is worse than "MP".

Her latest music is just.. blah. What's with the voice?

From yahoo.com:

"Britney's Not the Retiring Type

Thu Jan 06, 6:35 PM ET

Britney Spears would like to "rephrase."

Less than three months after announcing she was taking a break from her tabloid-tracked career, the pop star says what she meant was she was "taking a break from being told what to do."

In other words: Although she never really went away, she's back anyway.

Per the letter posted Monday on her Website, Spears has been a regular multitasking multihyphenate. In recent weeks, the non-retiring entertainer:

Codirected "a cute video" for "Do Somethin'," an original track off her greatest-hits collection.
"Came up with all the choreography and styled the entire [video] shoot myself using Juicy Couture clothing."
Butted heads with her record label over the clip. ("But, in the end, I think everything came out great.")
Threw herself into "working on writing and hopefully eventually directing a musical which makes fun of the whole Hollywood scene." (Its tentative title: Hollywood.)
Acquired a new dog, Lucky.
Bought a dresser and a "baby chandelier" for Lucky's shared room with Bit Bit, another dog.

Spears' thorough accounting of her activities had to be cut short, she wrote, because she needed to tend to Lacy, yet another dog from her kennel, "who has been sick for a little while" and requires medicine.
There was no mention of Kevin Federline, the dog--sorry, the onetime backup dancer whom she wed last fall.

While Spears did not gush about her husband, there's no indication she has lost faith in the fedora-wearing red-carpet accessory. Quite the contrary.

The New York Daily News reported Wednesday that Spears has signed with a new manager with an eye not just toward her career but Federline's, as well. Spears wants to help Federline become a hip-hop star, a source tells the paper.

Spears, who turned 22 on Dec. 2, confirmed her ambition to become more "hands on" with the "business side of things" in her Web missive.

"The things I've been doing for work lately have been so much fun, because it's not like work to me anymore," she wrote, adding that enjoying one's work is the way of all "True Masters."

On the work side of things, as Spears might put it, she is already beginning to hype her latest new album, The Original Doll (working title).

On the Los Angeles radio station KIIS-FM last week, Spears played a rough mix of a new song called "Mona Lisa," and said the complete CD might be ready for release by summer.

So much for the vacation. Apparently somebody's got to pay for all those lights in Lucky and Bit Bit's chandelier."

Pretty much what's already been posted, but I thought the article was humorous.

EVERY singer nowadays; they don't sing with their real voice. It's all computerized and that is just really stupid. :/ Well, at least I think. Sure, Mona Lisa sounds quite catchy, but Britney Spears trying to sound black/reggae/jamaican and all that... it isn't right. -_- And YES!!! CHIPMUNKS! >_<!
