Ayu and Ken Hirai to perform on CNN International?

I don't have CNNi. Does anyone up here have Direct TV Satellite? Maybe you can tell me what channel number it is so I can make sure. Going through 2500+ different channels is a little hard. I tried looking through where most of the news stations are but I didn't see it.

i wonder about that line there at the end though, that says ayumi and ken will both have more of a world focus after the interview. it sounded like they meant career-wise, they'd be interested in the world, or did they mean that simply a lot of the world could possibly see the interview?

it's weird to see Ayu on US TV... simply she doesn't care 'bout the rest of the world (I talk about her business not the rest)... She doesn't want to export her music and she focuses on asian teritories... personnaly I think that's too strange to be true...

I doubt she will sing, but it is most certain that they will lace the interview with some sort of clip(s) of her videos and/or concert footage. It's not really a talk-show talk show with musical guests and an audience. It's more of a news desk type, educational discussion show. I assume it will be something like the interview BoA did for PBS a few years ago.

Most literally translated, 世界を視野に入れた活動も期待できそうだ says "It seems we can expect activities with the world in their field of vision," meaning that the writer assumes this will encourage Ayu and Ken to do more work on a global level, as opposed to just in Japan.

It's not really an effort to promote herself, though. It is a cultural show, to educate people about the things that are out there beyond our own borders. It seems she and Ken were both asked to be guests because she is an influential person in Japanese business and culture. It's not to advance their careers (although that may be a positive side effect). Like I mentioned above, BoA did something similar with PBS a few years back, so it's not too strange.
