you don't know anything about how the song sounds as a whole if you hear 30 seconds of it. you do, in fact, know how 30 seconds of the song sounds but that's it.

But in the end, no one's going to come to the conclusion that if was copied or plagiarised, so it doesn't matter.

And even if they do, no one's going to believe or encourage anything bad about Ayu. They might blame it on the composers...but even that's a stretch. It'll just be forgotten anyway, and everyone will remember Ayu and her version because, thats why people are here in the first place.

If that's the case then you could've made the judgement/judgment that Will sounded like that song from Kiki's Delivery Service since that was like a 30 second snippet of the melody and etc.~

But guess what? They were NOTHING ALIKE OTHER THAN THOSE >>30 SECONDS.

It's frustrating that people love to defend something that has a tiiiiiiiiiinny bit of proof and then in the end, it's all worthless.

I think the trhread starter doesn't need to defend him/herself by saying they're an ayu devotee. We know. Almost everyone on the forum is an Ayu fan, it's just that there's SOME people here that freak out when you say something about Ayu that's near negativity.

I just listened with a friend who is not really into Jpop but we both concluded that at least the chorus sounds identical. The only difference is the language. Of course Ayu's song may start out differently than the Chinese, but th chorus IS identical.

And I'm not gonna say "I'm an ayu fan!!" and defend myself for saying something "negative" I'm just being realistic.


By the way, the chorus of "Will" also sounds like Oda Kazumasa's song "KIRAKIRA". Dunno if you ever heard it, but it does. Not entirely, but the start of the chorus certainly does. So I wouldn't be surprised if Ayu used the Chinese song's chorus, with or without permission.

ps. we don't have to wait for the full version, if your ears function well you can hear the chorusses are identical. thank you

As I said in the last thread, I agree that it is too early to tell based on a 30s preview. The voiceover blocks out almost all but about 8 seconds of pure music so whatever conclusion you come to will be pretty biased.

Ayu HAS done lots of covers. Sotsugyou Shashin, Bold & Delicious, In the Corner and Pride to name a few. There is a possibility this is a cover but we can't say that as a fact yet.

Ayu already gets a lot of schtick about plagiarism from other sites so you'll naturally get people's backs up when it's suggested here too. I do not think a verdict can be reached with a 30s, sketchy-at-best CM.

I think that people love to blow things out of proportion. So what if a line or two sounds similar? That's like maybe 5% of a song. And what is the other 95% is TOTALLY different?
