How popular is Ayu around where u live?

i used to the only AYU nuts way back around 1999 and 2000 in sch... =\ which everybody was like deserting me coz they think i am very weird.... or something.. BUT now!! its different!! muhahaha... a lot of people likes her now.. is like no one dont know her.. she is really popular here!! ^^ so now i also have a lot of friends who likes her.. i think it is a lot... and on tv.. sometimes, we get to hear part of her songs during commercials... i remember once when i saw a commercial on a drama but the background music was ayu's latest album 'my story' songs..... even though the original drama doesnt have a song which is ayu's!! i was so thrilled!! so i guess this is ayu's popularity in singapore ^^

Sorta kinda---just the anime freaks who LOVE Inuyasha. (Dearest) I am probably the most enthusiastic--then there's my friend Mina (she has some Ayu CDs), Hikari (Japanese Transfer Student), my cousin Jaimie (thanks to me), Heidi, Paris and Ridhi (they just like some songs [CAROLS, kanariya, etc.]) and Van who has some of Ayu's CDs too!

The majority of the people are at, almost like opposite poles. Most of the people who will know about Ayu, not necessarily listen to her, but just know about her, with either be in the Bay Area or in Southern California...

I am with my dad right now, and he lives in the San Juaquin Valley...no one knows about Ayu here.

Where I live, Ayu isn`t popular at all. No Japanese artist is popular. Everyone`s into Hip Hop, Pop Rock and R & B. I only know like 3 people who are actually into Jpop like me. And none of them know anything about Ayu. One of my friends, she has heard of Utada Hikaru but she`s never heard of Ayumi Hamasaki. That irks me. How could you not hear of Ayumi Hamasaki? She`s the Queen of Jpop. I mean, shouldn`t you know about her before any other Jpop artist? Not to be mean or anything, but the fact that some people know about Hikki and not Ayu irks me. That`s just how I feel.

Lots of people are interested in Japan/Japanese culture around here, so a lot of people know about Ayu. That doesn't mean they like her though.

The fact that there's like 4 users registered here who are from Sweden, and 2 of them are at least remotely active... yeah.

I suppose most asians know who Ayu is but everytime my friend sees Ayu (because I have pictures of her in my binders and everything) he will go, Didn't she get plastic surgeries or something? It's irritating!!

They have a definition like that on Urban dictionary. Something like "I went to go get an Ayumi Hamasaki" meaning I went to go get plastic surgery. I hate that!

Not even the anime kids at my school know who she is. It's somewhat ridiculous because the only person at my school that I ever knew liked (or knew of) Ayu was the Japanese foreign exchange student we had at my school last year. Not surprisingly, we became very good friends.

ayu? her name comes to a lot of people's minds when they thought of j-pop here. Most people had heard of ayu, know her and at least heard one of her songs.

ayu's cds, dvd, items are easily found here, and other j-pop artist's stuff can be found here too. Singapore is one of the best place.
at least i won't be treated as a weirdo.

I'm half Asian, half European or Eurasian as some people like to call it, living in Australia. Most of the Asians I know listen Ayu but not to many Aussie's or Europeans know of her.

I rarely now anyone here who knows Ayumi... only a couple of people... and I've told many of them about Ayu so they know her... I kind a tell them updates about her, lol.

i think in my city Bandung (part of indonesia country), she was pretty popular, there is a lot of people that listen to her old songs...yeah she pretty well known for youth people in here...and there is some hard die fans like me in my city
