What is so bad about Beautiful Day?

I don't think it's bad but it's forgettable. Even right now, I can't quite remember how the melody goes.

LOL people get angry over that song because they find their lives miserable? If you read the lyrics you'll actually see she made it for the pessimistic people:

Every time we come to a fork in the road
We choose one and go forward
But the other way we didn't choose
Always looks so bright
Why?

That's the view of a pessimistic person. The song even wonders about "What's a beautiful day?", maybe that concept is way too relative. Some people have excellent days but just because something stupid happens they feel ruined, while others have an average to not so good day and still smile after all.

Maybe ayu was very pessimistic in the past (look at her past lyrics) and now she's happy and she probably thinks it wasn't worth the times she spent with too much anxiety and worrying, and thinks life should be taken easily. So she made the song and emphasizes that "it's a beautiful day' in order to "brainwash" people into realizing they should try to look at things more optimistically and actually "fight" for making their days "beautiful", rather than just sinking deep into "no it's not a nice day, my life sucks" and do nothing about it.

Not everyone are able to experience a happy life. Your life may be good, but mine certainly isn't in the past week. Fever, final, seizure-going to the emergency room, and lack of sleep plus I have been thoroughly stressed out.

After listening to it again, I realize why I dislike the song: it's so generic girl-popness. It's not really high-quality and it discards away what made Ayu such a good artist. I hear similar songs like this all the time from jpop. Unlike Greatful Day, it doesn't stand out. If I heard this song before, I'd expect this to be a low-budget ending song of a shoujo anime, not something by the Jpop Queen Ayumi Hamasaki.

Well I am sorry that your life is going well currently, however I am sure that it didn't suck your ENTIRE LIFE and you must have experienced happy times in your life. My life isn't all roses and rainbows, I have a tough life... I used to have a lot of people call me a "F_G(3 letter word substitute for GAY) and say they think I should die even though I am not gay and only because I have a lot of girls for friends. I don't worry that much and I stand up for myself and be a happy person!

I personally like it.
I guess people's good music taste today is just fading.

I like it. But it's definately one of the weaker track on the album, a so-called filler, not given any PR, not performed live... As far as i know...Maybe it'll be included in her Arena Tour..That'd be cool, cause the songs is cute

I guess like anime_fanatic, I seriously don't know what is that wrong with the song. This song seriously sounds like it should be a pv XD. I don't think it sounds fake at all, I really feel like I hear ayu's cheerfulness. Mmm I think it is hardly a 'brainwashing' song.
Hmmm I did write a long thing about her other more popular but very very generic songs... but I feel it is not worth trying to have people give beautiful days (or other songs somehow people find 'weak') a chance. In fact, I like it better that not many people care for it. I feel it is special belinda version song, made for meeeeeee! kekekekeke

Yes, currently. When I'm depressed, the last thing I want to do is listen to happy songs. Actually, I'm not really depressed, just really sick lately. I'm sorry, I just hate it when people tell me "be happy!" when I'm not feeling alright. I'll get over it myself, but Beautiful Day is just not my cup of tea. I prefer her LOVEppear happy songs, greatful day, fairyland, Angel's Song, and etc. I just don't like Beautiful day.

It's my opinion of course. If you like it, enjoy it. I don't like it, please leave me be. I tried to like it (by playing it over and over), but it just doesn't stick.

I loved In the Corner...but Beautiful Day is a pretty strong competitor. I don't know what the translation is, but everytime I listen to this song I feel like even though I'm having a terrible day, it's still a beautiful day to know that I'm still alive and that my friends and family still love and care for me.

I like Beautiful Day. It's a fun, happy up-lifting song as everyone said... BUT Her voice just ruins it for me. I don't like it when she sings in that high upper nazel register! It sounds wierd!
