I thought it was going to flop, but "Up" is doing AMAZING so far: it's currently at no. 16 on iTunes main and no. 8 on pop, no. 7 on Amazon singles chart and no. 3 on HMV pre-order chart.

I just hope they can keep it up for the rest of the week. <3

Yeah, I hope you haven't spoken too soon. I would love for this single to do really well. It seriously deserves to. I'm more concerned about album sales though, but with the single doing well, there's a much better chance of the album selling well.

they're up to no. 2 on iTunes, and no. 4 in the midweeks. they're only 50 copies behind no. 3, though - and that's counting the sales before they go to no. 2 on iTunes.

also, they performed acoustic versions of "Chasing Lights" and "Issues" on MTV Sessions today. very nice!

The success of Up so far makes me honestly so happy. They really deserve it.

And wow, those performances were flawless. I have to admit, they can all sing (although Frankie isn't that great), and are easily better singers than Girls Aloud as a whole.

As much as I love their ballads, I do hope that's the last one on their album, because the debut album of a pop group shouldn't be too ballad-heavy.

I think "Vulnerable," tomorrow's song, is also a ballad. if it is (and I'm just guessing based on the title), then that's four ballads, which isn't too bad imo.

the "Vulnerable" preview is up on their MySpace. it's not quite a ballad, but it's not really uptempo either. it's good, though.

HMV has also uploaded slightly different samples of each track.

After listening to all the previews, it's clear that this is going to be a solid debut. This is going to be a great album and I'm really hoping the sales reflect that.

Cheryl praised The Satz on last night's X-Factor.

also, "Up" is no. 5 for the week on the singles chart. sales will be released tomorrow, but should be around 20k.

oh, god. I remember that "Pies" rumor from their official forum, which then spread to Wiki.

Quote:
WeightWatchers have also confirmed that The Saturdays second single will be 'Lies'. As part of WeightWatchers 'Biggest Loser' (in weight) campaign, The Saturdays will be re-recording some of the lyrics of the song, which will then be called 'Pies'. This will be released as a B-Side on the single and 5% of the profits from the single will go to the WeightWatchers charity to help its overweight members. The lyrics will only differ slightly from "...all you ever told me, Lies..." to "...all you ever gave me, Pies...". The song is not intended to poke fun, but be something that overweight people can relate to. As part of the campaign, The Saturdays will attend a number of WeightWatchers events close to the release of the single. The single will be relesed in October 2008.
it was shocking how many people believed it, too... lol.

The album is fantastic. Chasing Lights is possibly my favourite track on the album. It's amazing!

If you would like to post a Get Well soon message, head over here and post it in the forum. They will all be passed on to Frankie.
the group will also be performing on Live Lounge on October 30th, which is also Vanessa's 19th birthday~

"Chasing Lights" is no. 9 in the midweeks, and "Up" is no. 7.

"Chasing Lights" could easily rise by the end of the week as the girls have a CD singing on the 30th, and will also perform on Live Lounge that morning.

also, the group minus Frankie cooked and performed "Up" on This Morning yesterday. they have a new mic stand routine and the vocals are actually live.
