... Holy crap. So yeah, it's still Ayu's worst song, and definitely one of the worst music videos ever made. But I can at least feel the fun in it now. The "yayayaya gagagaga dadadada wowowowo" is cute. I guess she's just said everything she needed to say, and now she just wants to have fun with her music. A Song for XX -> Memorial Address were full of passionate lyrics and emotion and drama. "MY STORY" was kind of a summary of her life, I feel. It was a reflection and a cleaning up of any unfinished thoughts from the previous 6 albums. Maybe the new album onward are going to just be fun.

But why was Ayu driving on a huge truck down Lexington Avenue and nobody told me???!!! She looks beautiful, but a little bit like a high-end call girl... very New York.

Daybreak isn't a bad PV, it's visually very beautiful. It's just boring as hell. It's all one shot, which is edgy, yes, but there's nothing really going on. Just ayu moving around dramatically and singing. It's very well shot, though, and she looks sooo beautiful. It's serene.

Its amazing. (*.*) Why do some of you dislike it? Its one of my favourite Ayu videos and that song is probably the best this year. I LOVE IT.

Am I the only one who seems to find this video amazing and the song bloody marvellous? The pages are full of people criticising it like its Humming 7/4.. I hate Humming, its Ayu's worst probably.. >.<

Totally agree. I never liked H7/4. B&D ROCKS! It's a big parody with freedom and craziness. Ayu's fun PVs are my favourites, ANGEL'S SONG and Bold & Delicious totally rank in my favourite Ayu PVs ever.

Hmmm she could very well be.. maybe she is.. and if so, then maybe I can look at it a little better.. I still cant watch the part towards the end where its really fast clips of her.. messes with my eyes.. darn epilepsy.. >.<

YES YES YES! The best part of Ayu in it is she actually stood on a truck! Most artistes just use the Green Screen behind them.. I loved this PV, it reminds me of Hollywood and Sex In The City.. Plus its hillarious when you consider the people around her dont know her but take pictures.. Ayu is gorgeous in it. I'm pre-ordering the chance I get to the CD shop! The song IS SO COOLLL!!! The opening is crazy, the Peco-screaming is superb, and Ayu's pronunciation isnt bad either..

I can understand if people dislike (or even hate) this song. Part of me even agrees. But the song, in full form, has something unbelievably catchy about it. It's very simplistic, even a little immature - but it's just fun.

Some parts of this song (and PV) are downright stupid. But I can't stop watching this thing. She looks great (surprisingly) with darker hair, and I love the setting. I've always liked her PV's like this more than her more serious ones.

One thing I will say about this album is that I've loved the PV's so far - I couldn't say that about My Story last year. Is this Love?, STEP you, Fairyland, Alterna, Heaven, and now B&D are all just fun to watch. I wonder what Pride will be like? Maybe she'll toss some symbolism in there.

the PV is bad but the song is ok..definietly not the best release for 2005..n this has got 2 b one of the worst a-sides.....i especially hate the part btwn 2:40-3:16 (i think its called the bridge)
i hope pride pv+song will b much better.....i dont even no if this will sell well in japan...

I have to agree with the consensus that Ayumi looked really, really pretty in this PV (the dark hair is working for her here). She had a certain Paris Hilton thing going on here (pink strapless dress, fur coat, screams heiress).
But I also have to agree that it was just a random PV. It just seems like something you do when you want to go super mainstream -- make it simple, fun, glam. However, I'm not going to jump on the bandwagon and be all, "OMGZ, American directors suck" because I'm so sick of the random America bashing.

Also, just as a general observation, it's VERY common for things to be filmed in New York on a regular basis so the only people taking video/photos of a hubbub would be one of the following: tourist, film student (hence the handy cameras), or fan. Also, the truck thing isn't uncommon; U2 did something on a flatbed truck in the past year or two. If you work or live in NYC, you've probably run into a filming somewhere.

Bjork did something similiar to this...and someone already said U2 as well...but Hamasaki's is different enough to be cool.
