How do we know how good Mannie was or wasn't?? Who are we to make such judgements on someone we don't know? He had his own career too. I remember when they first got married, people were saying how he was going to quit his job and leech off of her money and fame, when he did no such thing. It may have been easier for him to give up his career and move to Japan, but they obviously decided for Ayu to move to the USA instead. Unfortunately, that didn't happen because of the earthquake.

I agree - I was in a long distance relationship before too and it was very hard. It also did end up with splitting due to not being able to see each other (mostly due to parents there though) and the phone/internet communication just wasn't enough towards the end of it all.

Well, sadly, I can't say I'm too surprised. It sucks for her because I know she wanted to be in love, married, and happy, but now all I can think of are the lyrics to HAPPY ENDING. I hope she will be okay, but I know it will take time. She must have been dealing with it for a while now though. :/
