So true! 2007-2008 was great, i loved all her looked throughout the year and the hype we got for the release, i missed those moments.

I know there were even more during her peak but i became fan just starting from 2007 onwards >.>

RAINBOW has wonderful sound quality. It was even released as an HDCD. I love the sound on that format, so much detail.

I don't have the hdcd version, and for some reason I find the sound to not be as great as even the albums before it? I think I'd like crisper sounds.

Are you sure? None of the releases that were put out in that format had labels on them. The best way to know is to put in in Windows Media Player or some other player that can recognize HDCD and it will tell you. AVCD-17239 is the serial number.
If I had any criticism I would say that RAINBOW is a bit on the loud side. I would love for the dynamic range to be improved and I am always in favor of crisp detailed sound.
I keep holding off on buying Ayu stuff because I am waiting to see if anything is going to be re-released this year or next year.

The melody is really similar to July 1st and the sung verses reminds me a bit of fairyland. Interesting

So i was reading the article from TIME magazine from 2002 (?) and this just basically got me rolling in laughter:

can someone explain me, please. why shiro ayu and kuro ayu became so popular? in the recent tv-shows they mentioned it and I wonder what was so special about it?

I have read that before.
A lot of articles and just people in general try to discredit Ayu and her music and her accomplishments. While also glorifying other acts in Jpop.
Ayu has always been the under dog of Jpop. The other females of the time had break out debuts ex: Utada, Namie. But Ayu climbed her way up until she became Utada's biggest "competition".
The biggest misconception about Ayu is that she is some kind of queen diva Jpop idol who got famous for her variety of fashion. Us fans who have known Ayu for a while now realize that Ayu is actually a true artist and musician that worked hard to earn her success.
