Add to the no promotion + people's knowledge of ayu's new album that will be released in a month XD.
That's why it's really good!

Rule/Sparkle's index is the highest index of the day! It's even higher than the albums indexes =D.
(So it's not doing well just position-wise #1, it's also doing great by sales). ^^

The only way Ayu can't get number 1 is if her sales plummet for the rest of the week (which they will, but they would need to go steadily under 10,000) and flumpool would need to stay selling consistently and maybe rise a bit (which with their small amount of releases so far, have been pretty consistent sellers). Just a waiting game now to see how much of Ayu's first day sales were that high just because of fanclub/preorder stuff.

Pretty much everyone, everywhere is shocked about how well it did on the first day.

I think it has more to do with the fact that it seems that most of the album wasn't even recorded until AFTER they announced its release date. That's just kinda crazy.

i came home, went straight to Oricon, and screamed! yay, at least it debuted at #1! i'm a little disappointed with only 24k, but hopefully it'll be long lasting. enough to fill the end of the week, at least.

sad, sad. it didn't live up to my 30k prediction.

That talk about Ayu losing popularity always...~_~

The same thing happened with "Secret" - it was going to be a mini-album, with all the tracks already have been recorded, when it was announced, but she decided to record the rest of the tracks in about two weeks... so it's not like this hasn't been done before

I'm not really shocked by the first-day sales... lol I didn't know what to expect, with CD sales declining anyways, but it's nice to see her with fairly good numbers. I have a feeling she'll get the #1 spot again =D

Secret was a bit different - as you said, the mini album was complete meaning that they had a couple of songs at most to complete (most likely). Though that one was rushed too, its not as much as this one.

i suppose it is comforting to know that flumpool, in the #2 spot, only sold a sixth of Rule/Sparkle. i know there's more to be released, but it's still good to know how far ahead she is so far.

Glad it debuted at #1~ I don't think 24k sales is too bad.

Remember TABOO's sales pattern for its first week? I hope R/S won't end up having a similar one >.>

Ugh I so do not want Rule/Sparkle to have a sales pattern like TABOO...

But I mean, so far, from what we know, 1st days sales have been awesome. And ayumisrael mentioned that the index is higher than the albums on that day too! So that's a really good achievement!

Let's not worry about something that has not happened yet (sales dropping or whatsoever) until it has really happened!

Yay for the sales I can't help but feel how much better the numbers would have been if the single was promoted better :/ I mean they are good now considering little promotion, so imagine how much higher they may have been if it had been promoted more :/

Actually I didn't follow Taboos sales. What happened? High first day and then 1,000 copies the rest of the week or something?

Something like that. The days after its first day were like whoa.
