lol I'm roughly 5'9", so I'll probably be blocking a lot of people. ^^; What seats do you have? I'm on the elevated second level, but I'm close to the front of that...~

We're staying at the Sakura Hostel in Asakusa (the Original one) for about a week, then I'll be staying with a friend in Sagamihara (outside of Yokohama). Where are you staying at?

I bid on a pair that were advertised as either A3 or A5. Supposedly close, but they cost an arm and a leg.

I'm only staying a week. I kind of wish I were staying longer, but my boyfriend already made the plane reservations. So I wanna cram as much as I can into that week... no sleeping in for me!

What're you guys going to do besides the concert? I need ideas!

But I found a pretty nice, cheap place (had to be cheap because of the tix),
called Hotel Edoya. It has a supposedly very traditional, Japanese style, with ground-level futons and everything.

Hopefully you're not on the elevated first level. That would suck if you paid that much and weren't on the ground floor!!

What part of Tokyo is the Hotel Edoya in?

What days are you staying? Raye and I are staying in Tokyo from June 28th - July 5th. I know the day of the concert, we're probably going to Harajuku, since it's basically right next to Yoyogi. We're also going to Shibuya, Odaiba, Roppongi, Asakusa, Shinjuku... I'll be going to Tokyo Disney (for the Goofy festival!!! =D), but I'll be going with the friend that I'm staying with...

Yeah... it would suck, but I'm pretty sure they're on the ground floor 'cause lots of people were trying to bid on them like crazy. When I get them is there a way to tell if they're ground level or elevated?

I'm not sure exactly how to describe where Hotel Edoya is... here's the website... it's apparently close to a lot of tourist attractions though.

We'll be in Tokyo from June 24th to the 30th (getting there early, leaving the day after the concert... haha) but the plane rates were considerably cheaper for those dates.

I really wanna go to Harajuku and some other places... and I'm still not really sure where I'm going to go.. but I'd love to go shopping with you guys. Maybe we can hang out on the 29th.

Aah, they're probably on the ground floor. If your tickets have a "1階南" or "1階北", then they're on the elevated first level. If there is a "アリーナ" on your ticket, it's a ground level.

You're sort of near where we are... You're sort of close to Ueno. (We're about a 10 minute walk away from Ueno.)

lol We'll be getting to Japan the day before the concert... we should be all rested by then lol. I actually got lucky with my tickets - there was just a special for that day for tickets ($500 less than what they would have normally been), so I got our tickets that day. =D What airline are you taking?

You should go to www.japan-guide.com and check out the different areas of Tokyo, and plan that way. Yeah, we could go shopping on the 29th in Harajuku. ^^

Also, do you have any idea how the money conversion works? I have a Master Card debit card... would that be accepted in Japan? Or is there some kind of bank I should bring cash to to have it exchanged to yen? I'm kinda confused about that. ^^;

We're using Delta. Do you have any layovers? We're driving down to Atlanta and leaving from there, and it's a direct flight to Tokyo. =D

I know not all places take credit cards... I'm bringing all cash with me, and I'm getting it converted at either the Nashville or Atlanta airport. I would check Japan Guide to see what they have to say about credit cards and such. If you're gonna bring cash, check around to see the different rates and then get it converted at the best place.

We can def. hang out in Harajuku and go shopping together on 6/29 ^^
I think I'm gonna go to church that morning too... (Eri-chan found one for me to go to) i'll go if itz not too far away (the service is @ 10am)

If you do use, ur Master Card debit card, make sure you call Master Card and let them know you'll be using it out of the country cuz they might think itz fraud.

We have a few layovers unfortunately... leaving from St. Louis airport, then a layover in Chicago, then a layover in San Francisco I believe. How fun.

You guys are lucky to have a direct flight.
What are you gonna do to keep entertained during the flight?
I'm definitely bringing my iPod and listening to Ayu songs to hype myself up. But I'm not sure about what else. Probably sleep, haha.

entertain myself on the flight? well, def. my iPod...
also i'll do alot of reading, study my Japanese, and sleep!

where are you departing from?
we're gonna drive from Nashville, down to Atlanta the nite before and then fly to Tokyo from there the next morning (June 27th)

Oh, wow! That's a lot of layovers! How long do you have to stay at each place?

I don't know if I'll listen to my iPod...I may towards the end of my flight. I know I'll be bringing LOTS of CDs (including a mix of songs that Ayu will be doing at AT08 so I can learn the lyrics and such). I'll probably bring my DS (and maybe my PSP). I may bring a notebook and practice some Japanese (and doodle, haha). Of course, there will be movies and TV shows to watch on the plane, so hopefully they'll have some good ones!! =D

lol I just looked them up (for both Delta and US Airways)...AND THEY DON'T LIST ANYTHING FOR ASIA... ummm, lol There better be some movies on Raye and I's flight. That would suck to just SIT there for 14 hours. Uuuggghhhh. It seems like Delta has an On Demand service no matter where you go, though... lol Looks like the same thing with US Airways...

To call from the plane? You'll need a credit card, really. To call from Japan, you wouldn't talk to Delta - you'd either contact your phone provider (Verizon! ^^ You'd have to rent a phone from them, we can't use our phones over there), or use a rental service. I'm thinking of renting through Softbank...unless Verizon is cheaper, idk.

Aah. Yeah, you might wanna check on those rates...last time I heard, it was kinda pricey to do that. >____<

With Verizon, it's $4/day with free incoming calls (and texts) and $2.29 outgoing calls (and $0.69 outgoing texts). With Softbank, it's free the first week, then $2/day afterwards, with free incoming calls and outgoing calls are roughly $1.00. (For texting with Softbank, you have to sign up with their mail plan, which is only $3.00 a month. Plus, with Verizon, they ship you your phones, and with Softbank, you can just pick up a phone from a convenient store.

I keep seeing this on a lot of auctions...what exactly are fanclub tickets? I think I'm right in assuming that they're the tickets that TeamAyu members get through the lottery, but when you're actually going into the venue do you have to show proof that you're a member or anything like that?

Yep, that's what it is, TA members who get tickets through a lottery (before the general public) = fanclub tickets. And no, you don't need to show proof that you're a member nor do you need to show ID. All you need to do is show your ticket and open your bag so they can quickly glance over the content (they're looking for digital cameras and the like).

Fabulous. Thanks for your help! It would suck to spend all this money on a fanclub ticket only to realize that you would need to show proof that you're a member upon entry. I really can't wait for these shows! Seven years of waiting have finally paid off...

EDIT: Another question. When you're looking at a ticket for an arena seat, how do you tell which row of the block that you're in? Or what seat, for that matter? If your seat is within, say, 1-80, does that automatically tell you which row you're in? How many seats per row? Sorry for all the questions. @__@
