If she managed to release the album before the beggining of the next Oricon year, it would bring the sales waaay up! Not sure it's gonna happen though, she seems so busy right now... oh well! It will definately reach 1mill ^.^

What are the 2006 sales? If it was A BEST 2 that brought up 2007's sales, I think it might be better to compare this year's with 2006's... though obviously the earlier the closer it is to her peak, but dunno, it might be easier to see the difference in sales that way~

It's a recut single, right? That's probably why...
(though, MW is also a bit of a recut, but the song is extended, plus many fans who don't usually buy singles bought it because it's a anniversary release...)

(or was Utada's single also an altered version of the song?)

Yeah but didn't something like this happen to beautiful world/kiss or cry? And in the end it was a platinum selling single. She has a much longer charting life than ayu. That's why for ayu, it's really important she sells as much as possible during the 1st week. Guess that's why for t2m, many of us were dismayed at the 1st week sales figures.

Prisoner Of Love was a complete re-cut, with a -Quiet Version- and some instrumentals thrown in. All in all, still a re-cut. Mirrorcle World was an extended version of Mirror, and it also had Life and new versions of YOU and Depend on you. It deserves to sell better than Prisoner Of Love.

While I agree with you (and mostly because I thought the PoL song was horrible) I just have to say that didn't Ayu do a re-take version of "YOU" about 5 years ago for her A BALLADS disc? So really the only "new" material was Depend on you, Life and the beginning and latter halves of Mirrorcle World.

... Still think it deserves to sell more than PoL, though XD

Like ayumisrael said, DOY was resung in A BEST... and that version of it sounds A LOT like the 10th anni version hahaha. Seriously XD

Anyway, YAY! It's outsold Startin'/Born to be...!! And it's going to reach 190k very very probably! That rocks~~~ hopefully the summer single will sell like that, too! (or better!)

I was just wondering, a few pages back, some people were saying that the reason Ayu has such big drops after the 1st week is because avex stops sending copies to the stores... or something like that? But, if that's why, shouldn't avex just try sending a few more copies? Increase it a tad bit at a time, and see how far they can get without losing profit. Unless they did it once and it didn't work.

It just makes me nervous that there's a possibility that Ayu's singles wouldn't drop so fast...

I was surprised because my friend said she had to 'hunt' to find MW for me in Tokyo HMV. She said she couldn't find it in Tower Records so either the stores aren't displaying them or avex isn't shipping it. So it's a little like the chicken or the egg. I was wondering whether low sales are because of lack of shelf space or vice versa.
