Talking J-pop Intro on my school's Television show!!!

It was so awesome we have this Television programs that shows at our school called KNN(Kenwood News Network), well the people at our school mostly listen to Rap or rock and today had mini special on the new genre hitting the scene (even though it been around for ever called J-pop. The song they did was Sanctuary By Utada and the made a music video for it. The only thing was stupid sucked was that the had the translation in the first part of the song but didnt have in Japnese. So I talk to their staff in charge of the music entertainment, so I can help them out cause they are going to continue this next week. Summary: It was just a huge suprise to me.

Has anyone else school done this?

All the shows in our county have a television show but it only airs at that specific school though.

Don't all schools, at least in the US, have their own 'station'?

Anyway. That's cool that they played that.

I'd be like o_O if that happened in my school, well, the school that was my school... pretty cool and it's cool that they'll keep it up.

More and more of the Japanese-US-inspired-culture is spreading back into the US, so now the US will be flooded by the Japanese version of what they invented : D !

that's nice to hear. more people will be expose to j-pop songs! which might put more attention to the industry.

i was hoping there's ayu. but hikki isn't bad. at least her albums can now be easily found in your country.

I'm getting a little worried for my sister now, she has that idea too.

Anyway, so you're going to be able to play J-pop on the TV station now right? Kids need to know that there's music outside of rap, R&B and pop-punk-emo stuff too.

My school has nothing like that.

Anyway, it's cool to see that J-Pop was featured on your station. I hope your school doesn't discontinue this J-Pop special.

The closest thing that came to having J-Pop be featured at my school was a girl's choice of listening to "First Love" by Hikki on her iPod; she chose that to be printed in "What's Playing on Your iPod?" section of our school's newspaper.

If a member of the newspaper staff came up to me and asked what was playing on my iPod, I would probably give her all J-Pop songs.

Staff: "What's playing on your iPod?"
Me: "Well, let's see...Free & Easy by Ayumi Hamasaki, Kairo by Utada Hikaru, GIRL TALK by Namie Amuro, and Frienger by Otsuka Ai."
Staff: "Ayu-who?"

That is really cool, but Sanctuary isn't even in Japanese

My school has a news program that we air on the classroom T.V.s every Friday, but we would probably never show anything like that on it. I would be so happy if they did though, however, even the anime kids at my school aren't Ayu fans. The only J-Pop songs that they like are damn anime themes and nothing else

ohh, that is soo cool!
but imo, I think it would of been better if they played a song from Ayu.
It seems as if Utada is the most well known Japanese singer in America...

I have my own station at school WGMS...and I wish they'd cover music it's mostly about sports, then weather, what food we're having that day, and some question down at the IMC.
