Ok!! I want everybody's opinion or advice..
Tomorrow, my aunt is gonna give me a post-birthday present and I ask for an ayumi hamasaki cd. Since I only have one ayu album, i thought I want the Complete clip box with an album or a dvd concert. So what best DVD concert can you recommend me?? I really want the complete clip box but is it worthy? I want an album but I also want a DVD concert.. So what should I choose? please I need your advice ASAP!

Well for one thing, the complete clip box is no longer in print and like many others here, I would definitely discourage the purchase of bootlegs. So honestly you might not want to get that unless your aunt is good with online auction sites.

As far as DVD concerts go, Arena Tour 2005 and Dome Tour 2001 are generally considered by fans to be two of her best shows, but I'd recommend looking at tracklists & screenshots to see which one appeals to you personally.

As for the album, Duty and (miss)understood are very good, polished-up pop albums, but if more emotional, raw music with lots of varying styles is more your taste, either I am... or Secret would be best.

But if you REALLY want lots of music videos, a concert, and alot of ayu's best songs, then A BEST 2 -BLACK- and A BEST 2 -WHITE- in combination would really be a good purchase for you.

Clip box is still available in CDJapan but now I changed my mind.. I'm not gonna get that anymore. I prefer one DVD concert and two albums.. I looked the screencaps and Arena Tour 2005 MY STORY is appealing to me because it has 2 CDs..Well, I'll choose that..
For albums (m)u is not really appealing to me and I only like very few songs so I choose LOVEppears and RAINBOW... But I also love I am.. and Memorial Address.. huhuh.. God this is killing me...
A friend of mine lend me her A BEST 2 White and Black and it's great but I don't consider that as of now...

I have the Complete Clip Box and it's great, but yeah it's very difficult to find and usually will cost you a fortune. Arena Tour 2005 was amazing, with great vocals and wonderful theatrics. I totally recommend that DVD if it's going to be your first. The funny clips on the second disc are great too, but you'd only enjoy it probably if you understood Japanese. I Am... is a great album! I totally recommend that one. LOVEppears and Rainbow are good too.

Personally, my favorite concert is Arena Tour 2006 ~(miss)understood~

Great albums are definite I am..., RAINBOW and (miss)understood


But I agree with what's been said above.

If you want some of her greatest songs, music videos AND concerts.

A BEST II both versions are great!

^ The way the DVD was set up turned off a lot of people.

I'd recommend AT 2005 if you want a concert, and either Duty, I am... or (miss)understood for albums.

Dvd: Pick Arena Tour 2005 (MY STORY) or Tour of Secret.... those ones were too perfect!

CD: I will go with (miss) understood or MYSTORY.. But you have to pick your CD which have the most of your favorite songs! (for me is that missunderstood)

My choice for DVD concert is ARENA TOUR 2006 (miss) understood, the only concert I purchased on DVD so far.

If you want an audio album I would recommend (miss)understood or A BEST II, large compilation album of 31 songs and DVDs of the PVs and Best of CDL 06-07

Well I find it so heavily edited almost EVERY performance seems lip synched/fake. And the documentary setup takes away the concert-feeling and turns it into a collection of videoclips. It's my least fav DVD. :/

many of you really recommend the AT2005 and I include that with DOME TOUR 2001..
Actually, my first real choice was Complete clip box because I can't afford it myself so I want to ask it from my aunt BUT....I want the best concert DVD..and probably I can enjoy the Live performances...
With the album still, I can't decide!!! My aunt's gonna call any moment later...hhuuhuh..

Well, the clip box isn't a concert, so if you want a concert, that's totally not what you want. A lot of people may say otherwise, but on of my favorite Ayu concerts was CDL07-08, so I'mma be an individual and recommend that one.
