AHS Food Photography Challenge 2009

Read the entire announcement carefully before entering!



Description
  1. To photograph an Ayu-themed scene created using edible substances. You have freedom to do anything at all, but your entry must incorporate food materials. Be creative, original, and have fun!

Inspiration
  1. Examples of and discussion of food art can be found at the following sites:
    AHS Food Photography Challenge 2008
    Washington Post Peeps Diorama Contest
    オバッチのJacket Lunch Box
    Edible Art: 32 Amazing Food Designs
    Funky Lunch

Submissions
  1. To enter upload your picture file to YSI or another hosting site and PM (private message) the link to "AHS Staff". Do not send your entry to any other staff email or PM address. If you do not know how to use free hosting sites please ask for help.
  2. The photographer may also submit a brief comment explaining the content of the picture and how they took it.
  3. Only one entry per person.
  4. The size limit for the image file is no more than 650 KB.
  5. All entries must conform to the AHS forum rules. Entries containing sexual, violent, or offensive content will not be accepted.
  6. Entries must be as anonymous as possible. DO NOT upload your entry on any sites or forums until after the contest is over.
  7. The deadline for submissions is 5:00PM EST 15 November 2009.

Judging
  1. The entries will be judged by the AHS initiates in a poll.
  2. Each AHS member is allowed to place one vote only.
  3. The voting will begin on or about 15 November 2009.
  4. In the event of a tie, another poll will be made between the tied entries to decide.
  5. These are the suggested criteria for judging:
    • originality
    • composition
    • technical skill
    • adherence to the contest theme

Prize
  1. There will be only one winner.
  2. The winner will receive their choice of any Ayumi Hamasaki CD in stock at YesAsia.

Disclaimers and Rules
  1. The voting should be based on the merits of the entry only, and not on the person who made it. Entrants should NOT identify their work until after the voting is ended. If you try to influence another person's vote by disclosing the identity of any entry you will be ineligible to vote in this contest and if the rulebreaker is a participant their entry will be disqualified.
  2. The entry must be the work of the initiate submitting it (i.e. no store bought face cakes, etc).
  3. The photograph must be the work of the initiate submitting it (i.e. don't enter a picture you did not personally take).
  4. The photo should be submitted as taken, without manipulation in Photoshop or other image editing programs.
  5. The deadline for submissions is 5:00PM EST 15 November 2009.
  6. The prize shall not be exchangeable for money/cash.
  7. The winner will have to provide us with a valid shipping address and phone number when it is time to send the prize.
  8. AHS staff may enter but they are not eligible to win the prize.
  9. We regret that any late entries will not be accepted.
  10. DO NOT CHEAT. The AHS staff reserve the right to nullify any vote and/or entry that we consider suspicious for any reason.
  11. AHS's decision shall be final and appeals shall not be entertained.

Had an idea of making a victoria sponge cake with white icing on top then have ayu's "A" symbol cut out from a thin layer of marzipan... shame i'm too lazy to do it.

Edit: Looking at the last years entries, I don't think my sponge cake would beat them...
