I don't mind what the titles are, I'm sure all the songs will be fantastic.

After reading some of the analysis', I think that some people have some really good theories about the title, but honestly, none of us know for sure what she's writing about. Sure, Tomoya seems like absolutely the most obvious thing she would feel guilty over, but we cannot say that definitely. Unless Ayu says it herself in an interview or whatever, we won't know for sure (despite how obvious the meaning may seem).

^ Well Ayu's never had a Japanese titled song (save for covers and the romanized HANABI) and I wouldn't mind if she started. However, she's been going on 9 years strong with her English trend now so I don't think she'd be inclined to start naming in Japanese any time soon.

I think it makes Ayu unique as an artist to have English titles [or at least in Roman letters] for every song in her [real] discography.
To be tired of the titles being unique is kind of... well, unreasonable. If she had a song that was called Ai no uta, it'd probably get mixed up with the other hundred Ai no utas. Ayu probably found out early on in her career that if she wanted to separate herself from other Japanese artists [or maybe avex found out, I dunno.] she had to do something. Perhaps along with her image/stuff/songwriting, titling in English was one of them?

waterballoon's analysis really means a lot! its an awesome read and it makes a lot of sense...
titles are titles, but those with hidden meanings just mean a lot more.. |

GUILTY... With a title like that, I'd have expected it to be guilty or something, but yeah, um, I guess it wasn't that nice of an era for Ayumi. D:

I read something...maybe it was one of masa's articles, that when she names things in all capps, it's when she's like trying to come off strong but in reality she's weak.
i think that's what it meant.

That's interesting, I suppose we're looking at a very dark album then...

krehh.
The title is amazing, and I'm going to have to say the only thing I can think of it being about is Tomoya. Anyway, Ayu has only named a few titles in all caps ... RAINBOW, MY STORY, and now ... GUILTY. They all seem to fit the "wanting to be strong, yet still being weak" description. |

not just album names but if you look at the lyrics of some of the songs that are all caps like NEVER EVER and HAPPY ENDING, there's that theme in them as well
i just thought that was a really interesting analysis...having to deal with the way she does her titles anyway.

The title is slightly startling, in a way. I mean... Guilty? I think that's the most negative album title she's had yet.
