Amazing how R/S is among the most succesful singles of 2009 so far with such low sales... Sales keep getting worst every year!

Sales are definately hard for female artists, I'm hoping she keeps Rule/Sparkle up there in top 10 or 20 for the year!!

it's & I wouldn't be surprised if the same thing goes for male solo artistes too (where are you Ken Hirai T_T)

I doubt if D/G can be pushed out from top 40. at least like MW at #33 at the end of 2008
D/G is pretty good in chart
no one female singer outsell it so far

I think the fact that R/S sold less than 1k is a sign that it will stop charting soon. Nice run and hope it stays in top 50 annually.

To Karen: Yeah yeah, I'm sure arashi will release with a bang AGAIN. You know how Wiki claim ayu once accounted for 40% of avex's profit? I think arashi is doing that for JE now. Not even KATTUN is selling very well. Only Arashi.

R/S did well for a single considering that it was released a month before NEXT LEVEL was released so hats off to it

KAT-TUN has more or less lost their peak when comes to single/album sales (I STILL LOVE THEM THEIR MUSIC ROCKS OK) . They don't have the same selling power as they once had when they finally were able to debut 3 years ago with a BIG BANG (7 editions of their debut single Real Face anyone ? )

But it's fine since as time goes by , their music just keeps getting better & their new album Break the Records -by you & for you- is already shaping up to shoot straight to my fave album of the year list once again just like last year's KAT-TUN III -QUEEN OF PIRATES-

Unlike their koukai's KAT-TUN , ARASHI took a good 8-9 years to get to where they're which's a very rare sight in the Jpop music scene . It's not often you see an artiste who has been around for 10 years & they only manage to hit it big only just last year in which their hard work has definitely paid off big time

I noticed too that KAT-TUN album sales seem to be going down quite a bit. I'm not a big JE fan, but I thought KAT-TUN were like the most popular group right now, so I was surprised to see that QUEEN OF PIRATES album didn't even break 300k. At least Ayu can keep up with them in albums cause NL already beat that. I think it's weird cause some of their singles sold up to like 400k and Ayu's now sell in the 100-200k range. Also, I think R/S had a pretty good run considering the circumstances. Glad to see it did better than peeps thought it would.

yeah I was very upset that QoP didn't break 300K which sucks because it's such an amazing album & it was the 1st full length Johnny's album that I listened to & I have to say it's 1 of the best if not the best original album that I have heard last year , Johnny's wise

that's the thing with Johnny's bands

they can sell a LOT for singles but can barely do squat when comes to albums

it's always the norm for them , I rarely see a Johnny's band that can sell a lot for albums & little for singles .

In fact probably never at this day & age

Times are changing, the sales will never be like they was back in the time. (if Japan wont do like in Sweden, since ipred and piratebay the CD sales have gone up 30%...)

Anyway, the sales always kicks down with time in physical sales. I think we should take more note on is the physical sales and the digital together. I mean, Ayu keeps her #1 spot and that is still kickass!

AHS married to Maro
~13/1-2010~

Spoiler:
We had such a nice time. We started dating in t2m PV, took it slow you know, let our love grow. Then it got really serious in 2008. Then after AT2009 we moved in together. It was lovely. Then on AT2010 he asked me to marry him. He was such a sweet. And Ayu gave us our blessings. She was also such a sweet. Now me and Maro are such a sweets together. Aaaw, how time flies.

Most of the top placers are from JE.
After I watched the debut PV of those guys, no doubt that they had this strong appeal and charisma to their music and to their image compare to Ayu.

Spoiler:

And surprisingly, Ai no mama de was the only female single to chart and undered other JE artists.

In Ayu's case on R/S, even though it has low sales, it gets the #1 spot though.
Its a good thing to be appreciate the single's performance even it was paired on a "flop" movie.

I think it will surpass B&D....

wah i wish days/green was still charting >_< would have been nice if it hit 200k

but it's interesting that there are only 2 female artists on that list. it's amazing, actually.

it's kinda like last year when Aoyama Thelma released Soba ni Iru ne & Soba ni Iru ne was #1 for the 1 1/2 of the year

maybe the same thing's happening again right now to Ai no mama de . The whole sleeper hit issue's pretty cool

I did the same thing though. I loved GREEN and Days seemed too boring. Now it's the other way around. After the PV I need some time to cool off from GREEN, even though I'm still humming it at work

I like to think that the remixes helped R/S sales but three versions was horrible

something happened after I saw the PV for Days . Before that , I can't remember how it sounded like at all

lmao

if you think 3 versions of a single's bad , how about 4 & let alone 7 *points to KAT-TUN's DON'T U EVER STOP & Real Face*

& yours truly bought all 4 editions of DUES -_-'''

R/S hasn't surpassed B&D? Aw, her sales are really getting more front-loaded these days. Maybe it can chart for a few more weeks depending on how other singles do.

I also liked GREEN from the first listen but Days seemed so mundane but it has grown a lot on me since. My friend said it's the Japanese culture to have so many varieties. If they see only 1 version, it's sort of like a turn off... Utada Hikaru CDs seem to be immune to this theory though.

I think 3 versions for R/S is quite standard. Now the USB thing for NL seems like a gimmick but a very beautiful and practical gimmick. Everyone could use an USB.
