I think listening to loud music would be worse than listening to average volume music over a long time cos when it's loud it damages your eardrum; at least with avg vol it will be less damaging. ^^

^Well I guess you guys are right then. And it's better like that anyway, I guess. But it's just that I cannot enjoy music that much as I enjoy it on a louder volume. I don't know why's that.

^ maybe you have to get used to it? I had a peroid when I listened to louder music and the moment i started listening to it more quietly it was pretty boring the first weeks

^Thanks, noidea. I'll try that out. In fact, I'm listening to music really quiet now, and it feels fine if I'm concentrated on something else. but when I want to concentrate on music my hands just go to volume things up xD. But I'll try my best, lol.

actually I`m quite sure I lost a big part of my hearing already
I tend to listen very very loudly on my earphones but i think the music makes more fun that why (and I donīt wnat to hear the other people in the bus or train!)
but it is very unhealthy and I try to at least get the volume down a bit most of the time or to listen whithout earphones on my handy (when I sit alone at the busstop or so)

Well, actually a few days ago, my left ear was REALLY hurting around the tragus for about 3 days. But now it's fine. So I'll just see if it hurts again. XD

^ that actually isn't THAT bad, of course, your hearing will be under average, but probably not THAT bad unless youre holding your ear on the speaker

Since little I'm like.. uhm a bat?
I can listen clearly even far or low sounds and people are like 'are you human?' LOL

But I listen music everyday and during night I used headphones at OVER 9000 volume XD
so I lost a bit of my superhearingpower.

I have more afraid to be blind imo.

Sometimes, yes.
I'm now trying not to use headphones at this moment.

Whenever I listen to the music, I blast the volume in my headphone and it was a bad habit, I admit it... I done it everyday.
But now, im not doing it.

As of now, im enjoying the speakers which is "better" plus the lowering the volume while listening

Hearing is like a treasure for me
I don't want to lose it

I wasn't worried, until I started working in a nightclub, and a few times I've stopped and wondered how much I'm damaging them >_<

YES! I am. I know I'm not that old and I don't have to worry about hearing loss in the immediate future, however in 30, 40, 50 years, I don't wanna lose my hearing. I listen to my iPod with earbuds at the lowest audible volume, which is typically the lowest possible volume or a little higher. Its not because I'm restricting myself. I can hear it fine. But I don't want to listen to it loud b/c I don't want to have early onset hearing loss.

Ayumi went public about her deafness probably to set an example to fans so it doesn't happen to them. You can't appreciate music properly with only one ear o-o;

I used to listen to it really loud, especially on public transport and stuff and when I was walking next to a road. But then Ayumi let out that statement about her condition and suddenly there was this huge scare about iPod headphones, so I try and turn it down all the time now and use Ben's iPod speakers whenever I can xD

So yes, I'm pretty worried >o<;

That's really conscientious. But I'm glad you don't listen to music full blast on the road, that would be bad.
I don't actually listen to music outside much, if I'm out with friends, I'll only listen while I'm on the bus or on my own, after I meet with my friends I'll turn off my MP3.
But I think I'm more careful actually, the music I listen to atm isn't heavy metal any more. So I don't feel the need to blast it. XD
