I don't have favourite, before I mostly liked groups and bands, not solo artits. And mostly I liked those artists that released songs I liked, I was never a fan.

Brittney of course, I honestly don't give a crap about what people say about her, she's cool and I'm happy for her being a mother! Gwen Stefani of course, as well as Mariah Carey.

Those bands aren't american, just european. But I like european metal too much Like: Nightwish, Therion, Tristania, Within Temptation, Theatre of Tragedy, After Forever, Epica, Lacuna Coil, Opera IX, Asrai, Drastique, Cradle of Filth, Xzoriath, Dying Tears.....and much more^^

Well, US music for me is really boring. I'm bored of listening the same music and seeing the same boring artists all time.
Sincerelly I hate Britney; but I think I like Hilary Duff or Ashlee Simpson (but just one or another song on the radio) That's all.

And about Latin music (because Latin music is American Western music too) I think that latin pop music really su*ck*s (including that mexican artists always copies japanese singers style and songs). But I like reggaeton music a little.
