Yeah Pica, well. I am still sad, all of Ayu's new songs won't get remixed. Just the A-sides of her singles after RAINBOW, which isn't too much if you bear in mind that there are four new remix albums... They could have remixed all of Ayu's new songs with four albums.

^ I think most all of us feel the same way. But I suppose:

A) We can't change it.
B) At least we are getting new remix albums (not only trance, but eurobeat, house and AO).
C) They could all turn out splendid.

I know I'd rather have remixes of newer songs but I'm still excited for this. I actually am MOST excited for the eurobeat remix of STEP you. I think it will sound FANTASTIC in that style! I'm hoping the trance remix of Days turns out really good but Days is already a rather "cheesy" sounding song with the melody (which is partially why I love it) so I think it would sound best remixed by Groove Coverage or Dance Nation.

There was a fan orchestra mix of Jewel released once and it was pretty good! Although I think what's so special about Jewel is the beautiful simplicity in the piano. I prefer Jewel just how it is but you should check out that fan mix. I'll try to find it if I can.

The house version of Mirrorcle World better be good. I won't have one of my favorite songs butchered by a genre I don't like.

But in the end I shouldn't complain because we're getting Ayu-ro-mix and that's my favorite genre EVER.

I don't like house either. It's too boring for me. I mean, trance has such uplifting melodies, you can follow along. House has less "life" and "emotion" and is overrated at the moment. It's so monotonous.

This is exactly my answer to jbrat's question. Too monotonous.

I love trance for raver's reason as well, and I absolutely adore Eurobeat because it's completely insane. It's só energetic but not in a pointless way, it really sounds very good.

Don't get me wrong, though, I'll absolutely try and like the HOUSE remixes! Especially Mirrorcle World, it's hard to butcher a song like that, right? .... right?!

Am I getting "house" confused with "dance music"? House is a totally separate genre right? None of the remixes Ayu has done so far is considered "house" (I'm assuming because "house" was never in the title). And a lot of the electro stuff you hear from Gaga or the radio is not really house but may be a more dancey version of it?

She did one mega-mix in LOVEppears album Disc 2. That was the only House remix I ever liked, which is sort of sad, considering we're gonna get one full album of it soon. But if it will all be of that quality, then I'm not complaining~

And yeah, house is not dance. You can't dance to house.

Electronic Dance Music is a very complicated and very broad genre. Ayu has had house remixes before, "house" does not have to be in the title to define it. HEAVEN (House Mix) is one I truly do love, but to me it doesn't sound as "housey" as other "house" remixes that do not have "house" in the remix title. It used to be "house" was a more "funky" genre - had influences from disco. But now with electro house, it's become harder to define. For me, house = monotonous. Less life. Less creativity. Less emotion. That's what I get from it and that's how I characterize it. Hard to describe, you just know when you hear it.

And yes, the HOUSE Megamix on LOVEppears Disc 2 included a lot of "house" remixes. Most of which I hated but some of the mixes they used I actually started to like.

One of my fave Ayumi house mixes is "Glitter (Soul Central Remix)". It's a typical house mix. House music tends to have funky baselines and piano riffs :-)

There are good "dancefloor" music that is not considered house. Kumi's "TABOO" Kumi's "Driving" Kumi's "Get Up & Move!!" Lady GaGa stuff, - stuff that is more "dance" and less boring house.

Jody Den Broeder

Yes I have a lot of remixes by these artists that I love but I do not think they are considered "house" - just general "dance"

Kaskade and Chew Fu are definitely more housey though. Which is why I don't like them as much.

Poker Face (Jody Den Broeder Remix) - Lady GaGa
Takin' Back My Love (Jody Den Broeder Remix) - Enrique Eglasias
In My Arms (Bimbo Jones Remix) - Plumb
Piece Of Me (Bimbo Jones Remix) - Britney Spears
U + Ur Hand (Bimbo Jones Remix) - P!NK
Nothing In This World (Dave Aude Remix) - Paris Hilton
Stranger (Albert Castillo Remix) - Hilary Duff
Umbrella (Haji & Emanuel Remix) - Rihanna
Bad Romance (Skrillex Remix) - Lady GaGa

These are all examples of remixes that I love but clearly have a HUGE difference between house tracks like BEPs works of late, David Guetta, and the like. These have much more life to them and I feel these fit your description of "made for dancefloor, to feel it and enjoy it" much more than your average house music/remix!

Yes I truly agree. I mean, sometimes there are exceptions but overall the genre and term "house" is just a for me.

I mean, the David Guetta song with Fergie and LMFAO was atrocious. "The Time (Dirty Bit)" by BEPs is absolutely revolting. Seriously, how can you call that music! It's annoying if anything!

no problem!.. leave all the house remixes just for me
HOUSE is made for dancefloor, to feel it and enjoy it.
the evolution of house is really big and dinamic

the problem is that ayu (or the executive producers of the remix albums)
are not really into HOUSE genre right now...so the remixers chosen for the last house remixes are a little "out of date",
you have a lot (LOT) of new talents on house genre.

trance music for me is very static and old fashion
is like....lavoratory music.
