N00b question: is there any difference in image or music between AKB48, SKE48, and NMB48?

I'm a fan of SDN48 and haven't really paid much attention to any of the other groups aside from checking out a few of AKB's "controversial" videos, but after listening to NMB48's debut single, I have to say I liked it a lot.

Are the younger 48 groups meant to be different from each other or are they meant to compliment each other since they share a lot of the same AKB stage songs?

AKB48 is of course, the flagship so anything xxx48 related has some ties to them. Newer groups (with the exception of SDN) use their old songs and stages to perform until Aki-P writes them their own original material.

SKE48 is the "little sister" group of AKB so their image is younger and their songs and dances tend to be more energetic and lively. Like this:

NMB48 is more like you described. They're just a Namba based AKB48. Since they're just releasing their first single it's hard to tell what their overall sound will be or morph into.

HKT48 is just wrapping up auditions but they'll probably be more or less like NMB.

The description of Flying Get's PV sounds awesome. I hope the lower Senbatsu members get some time in it even if it's only a little.

It's almost time for a 4th thread!

To add to what Ranma Matsuri said: SDN is definitely the sexy, older, more adult-oriented group of the 48s. All the girls are over the age of 20 and the dances and outfits are generally a lot more provocative than the other groups. They're still pretty tame compared to some of Kuu's craziest stuff though. You might have already known this, but if you didn't, it's some perspective so you can tell how the other groups will differ from them.

Yes, Tomochin's Engrish was incredibly cute. I hope she decides to learn some of the language in the future, just for the moe factor. :3

HATED the interviewer though. You know that old gag with the dumb American trying to speak to a foreigner that they assume doesn't know English in that loud and fake exuberant voice? That's EXACTLY how she sounded. This was obviously scripted so that made it even more unnecessary. The girl is Japanese not deaf or slow, ya dumb bimbo! Sheesh.

Thanks for the replies and info, guys.

I think musically NMB isn't going to be that much different from AKB or SKE so ultimately it will come down to whatever sort of image they have if I will support them financially or not.

I'm definitely not expecting them to be like SDN since they're younger but I just don't know yet if I should order their single even though waiting too long will mean missing out on the first press bonus. :/

Edit:Forgot to ask: does YesAsia give out bonus photos or any external bonus that doesn't come packaged inside the CD case for xxx48 releases?

^ Yeah it's best to go with CD Japan, HMV or even a middleman if you want to get a bonus item from releases.

I guess I should start the new thread now?

It sounds like one of those everybody follow along and learn English type things which I guess it basically is and you know it's scripted but at least she tried hehe.

It's sad that Hana kimi 2nd episode ratings is so bad... People are now bashing Acchan and the other actors for not cute enough, as compare to the previous version... (T__T)

I agree. The 2nd episode was better than the first. I like that they put plot changes. It sucks that they get compared. The original wasn't that good.

For some reason I keep thinking we need to change threads at 450 posts. >_< I'm 50 posts behind.

The first day for the Yossha ~Ikuzo~! in Seibu DOME concert has started. There was a Majisuka skit where Team Hormone and Team Fondue walked through the audience to get to the stage then some Majisuka songs. A MC with Sayaka and Sae standing next to each other and Nachu being Nachu.

The setlist is okay. Summarized version of it plus announcements as it happens under spoiler because it could get long. I'm updating this as it happens.
Spoiler:
Some album songs, Team B MC, some more songs, Team A MC, some SKE songs, SKE MC, some more songs including theater girls, SDN, some 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th generation Kenkyuusei. Singles.

Heavy Rotation x 4 at each spot on stage for each team. (Sounds awesome)

Then The dance version of the Flying Get PV and then Flying Get. Encore. Flying Get PV Drama version. Apparently something like a cult and just now RIVER.

OMGOMGOMG MAJISUKA MOVIE TO BE MADE WHAT?! Encore: Beginner (Maeda Center)

MC about their feelings about Seibu Dome concert, Dakishimecha Ikenai with Umechan and Churi as double center! Ice no Kuchizuke, No Eguchi Aimi. MC Sayaka Yukirin, SKE Captians on stage, NMBs Saya Appeared and AKBs Sayaka called her Sayanee XD Korekara wonderland and everyone with Koko ni Ita Koto.
Okay... Donno anymore about the Majisuka movie thing? The person I was following for updates didnt mention anything else so they could have heard wrong? Hmmmm. Yeah ignore that.

Okay now for the setlist song by song
