I always supported the two but I'm not surprised by the news either. Long distance relationships are indeed hard. I'm in one too and been so for the last 6 years now. And these two who have a goal to reach, I bet it is difficult to handle their marriage.

I know Ayu and Mannie will get through this and stay strong. And I hope the fans will respect their privacy like Ayu said. I wish them both the best.

This is really sad. ): I was rooting for them in the future, but her explanation is equally very understandable, I will support Ayu and wish Mannie all the best, too. <3

Also, I don't think it's fair for people to go "I knew this would happen, I never liked Mannie". He's not the bad guy here, he never treated Ayu wrongly, they just grew apart. That's what happens when you live in countries separate sides of the world. XD
I don't think it's neccesary to be hateful towards him like that, and Ayu wouldn't want you to be, either. Forgive me if I have missed the ball here, it's okay if you dislike Mannie, but don't make him look like a bad guy. XD

I hope Ayu and Mannie find new loves they can keep close, and still remain friends. I won't inquire into her personal life or decisions, that's not my right, but I will support her, I think she's made the best decision for both of them. It's quite obvious from what's she's said, that Mannie wishes to stay in the USA, and Ayu wishes to stay with her country. That's just what happens.

I know Ayu is one tough women, but I also want to give her a big hug, hahaha. It can't be easy.

I love Ayu and I have never felt anything against Mannie. He did make her sooo happy before and that made me happy. I'm sad to see them break up. Mostly because I want to see Ayu happy. That's pretty much the only reason. I wish them both the best recover from this! Still, it's so sad to know how sad both of them must be at the moment...

I hope Ayu will gain some strength from her fans that love her so much and someday be happy Ayu once again.

In the end, I think that this shows just how Ayu won't compromise for anything but what her heart really wants. She won't settle for a marriage just to be with someone, just because she's at a certain age and that's what's "expected" when you get older; she doesn't want to give up anything about her life -- her career, her home (Japan), her dedication to both -- and that means that you have to make sacrifices in other places. I hate that it has to come down to this, but... at the same time I really admire her. I'd rather her and Mannie be divorced and happy with their lives than together and miserable.
