I don't think ANYONE here could know that Mannie was or was not good for Ayu. All we could really do was hope that he was good for her.

Yes I do love having that on my conscience. I would have hated having it on my conscience if I had hid my feelings from her and she ended up with a child by that creep.

Well, I'm just happy Mannie isn't tied down by any of her empty promises anymore.

No offense to anyone, but a common side effect of mental instability is hearing voices and claiming those voices are of a higher power (god/satan/fairies/etc). I have seen this in manic depressive people, people in own family have suffered this. Saigodansu is sick, literally.

I agree. My mom has bipolar and I see the symptoms as well. She would talk to me as a child and tell me people we're going to blow up our house and that god was blessing her with another child even though she was physically unable to have children anymore. He is a very very sick individual.

Well I'm glad people are taking it seriously when we say he's crazy now.

But okay, maybe that word is insensitive. I'll do my best to abstain.

My mother is manic depressive and claimed that god talks to her and she can receive messages from him. She would write them down and regard them with the same reverence she would give the bible. And J-Hobo, oops, I mean saigodansu, shows those similar signs. He needs help and medication, and I mean that with all sincerity.

I think her reasoning for staying in Japan is a load of crap.

The tsunami was in March. They announced the marriage on the 2nd of January and Ayumi had said she was going to stay in Japan. Did she foresee the tsunami or something?

Blame the divorce on what it truly was, a relationship that didn't work. Not some national pride thing in the wake of a tragedy.

I wanna know how do Japanese see people getting divorced.
Is it a No-big-deal issue or they don't quite like people getting divorced?

I hope it won't take down ayu career...

What's Namie and hikki situation before? Did the sales figures change after they announced divorce?

I think you misunderstood what she said. She said they got married and had plans to live in the US, but then the tsunami happened and Ayu felt the urge to stay home. While that's understandable, she could only do so much, and Japan got back on it's feet pretty quickly. Like you said, I think later on down the line it became an excuse of sorts for them not to face things.

I think Namie's career coming to a halt is sometimes attributed to her divorce and kid...but idk...she had so much weird stuff happen in her life.

I'm fairly certain hikki's divorce didn't do anything, but her situation was a lot more traditional than ayu's.

Sad, but I understand and support her. I hope that Mannie and her will stay in touch though. But I totally understand how difficult it would be, since your husband is in the other side of the globe. Staying friends is possible, but maintaining a relationship with that kind of distance is almost inpossible.

http://www.tokyohive.com/2011/01/ham...ially-married/

There were articles published regarding their statements of not living together. Granted this is the only one I can find without digging deep. Were those statements credible? Maybe, maybe not. But that was published on the same day as their announcement and they seemed to live by those standards before the tsunami hit.

I'm sure she isn't proud of her choice, despite realizing its probably for the better, but don't use a huge tragedy as a scapegoat.

I definitely agree that with you on that.
