I seriously doubt Ayumi has any problems with people posing naked, even her (ex) husband. She posed nude and near-nude several times before and she's been known to visit gay clubs where you're practically bombarded with tons of nudity(or at least more than in "normal" clubs)...this whole "the book had something to do with the divorce" thing...bot buying it. It seems like the distance, and maybe other problems they simply didn't realize before, made them grow apart as a couple. That seems more likely and it's what Ayu herself practically says.

I don't think this contract is a rumor. This is totally Hollywood style. Many people in showbusiness have their employees under contracts and they are not allowed to speak personal details of them to the press or curious people (ie Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt and Katy Perry). Ayumi has an image to the public that she probably wants to protect and she's probably afraid that he somehow wants to profit from her fame . I'm pretty sure Mannie is not one of them,but if you belong to entertainment you probably don't want people to know too personal details. It does prove also, like emi said, that she unfortunately doesn't really trust him.

In top of that, I've always thought Ayumi is the kind of person that's too worried to show a image of perfection in front of the public, very goddess like, so this would even make more sense.

While this is done a lot in Hollywood, it's probably the reason why the rumor popped up to begin with. I don't think that it means anything though. Whenever any high profile celebrity breaks up with a significant other, things are going to be said and people are going to speculate. Just because others have gone through X or Y, it doesn't mean that Ayu went through it necessarily.

A rumor doesn't prove anything. If this were true, it would prove a lot. There was probably some sort of agreement in the divorce contract but I doubt he had to be paid off to keep quiet. I don't think he seems like the kind of guy who would blab about that kind of thing anyway. There's a possibility he could let something slip one day, but until that day comes, I believe he'd be a better person than that. Interesting that he seems to have done some work in Japan post-divorce.

I think this rumor is fake. Mannie doesn't seem like the type of guy who would go blabbing about his and Ayu's personal time together. And I think if he was going to do that, he probably would have already. So yea. FAKE.

The thing is, it's really not about Mannie being that kind of guy. It's about the possible repercussions and they're just taking preventative measures. I don't think it reflects poorly on Mannie. It's just something that at one point or the other has to be done.

When it comes to Ayu, I don't know about that.

I understand that there's probably reason to keep him quiet since this IS a global star we're talking about and that was probably in the divorce papers, but I don't think he had to be paid off (which is the main issue that people have with the rumor, I think). It would reflect badly on Ayu and Mannie if that were the case.

This rumor was also in the Japanese newspapers which I posted awhile ago. I believe the amount was different though, don't remember.

But it's definitely possible. While no one in the states would care, Asian media outlets would pay huge amounts of money if Manny were to talk to them. So while I don't think they ended their marriage in a malicious way, settling their divorce with a paid promise doesn't seem too far fetched. I don't think it's saying Mannie would do this, but rather, if her -were- to do it he would face consequences so instead, take the money in a lump sum.

I mean, they both got married knowing that Ayu is a millionaire pop star and Mannie, well, isn't haha. I think it would be smart of her to do this, but of course we'll never know the truth.

I think Ayu paying Mannie off is just good sense. Mannie may not be a bad person, but for the right price, people can change. And if he did, he's not really a bad person for it either. He's no longer married to her and has no obligations to her.

But all this should be stipulated in the marriage contract; I mean, Ayu has an image to protect and I think in the marriage contract or divorce they have agreed on a mutual silence or something like that.

Paying that amount of money would not improve her image either, because with that money she could have help her country.
